Robbie Morris Muckleroy lived a full and meaningful life rooted in faith, family, hard work, and adventure. Born in Pelly, Texas, on April 30, 1935, to Willie Mae and Albert “Sye” Muckleroy, Robbie grew into a devoted husband, father, brother, friend, and community member whose warmth, determination, and generous spirit touched everyone who knew him.
Robbie graduated from Cedar Bayou High School, where he played football and baseball and ran track. After graduating in 1953, he decided to forgo football scholarships and attended Lee College. He soon began working for the Harris County Water District as a supervisor of the Cedar Bayou Water System. He also attended the Texas A&M Fire Fighting School.
On September 11, 1954, Robbie married the love of his life, Joyce Mazoch Muckleroy, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Baytown, Texas. Through their marriage, Robbie became a member of the Catholic Church and was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. Together, Robbie and Joyce built a life centered on family, faith, hard work, and shared adventures.
Robbie later left the water district and went to work for USI Chemical Company, where he was employed for 20 years. He was then hired as a supervisor at Exxon Chemical Company in Mont Belvieu during the startup of the new plant. After 15 years at Exxon, he retired in February 1996.
Alongside his career, Robbie pursued a number of interests and business ventures. He earned his real estate license in 1975 and spent his spare time buying and selling real estate. During this time, he and Joyce purchased property in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico, where they spent two months each year. They also owned Jay’s Liquor Store in Baytown, Texas.
Robbie and Joyce published two cookbooks, RobJoy Ranch Cook Book and RobJoy Hacienda Cook Book. They enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and golf, as well as listening to music and attending dances at the Knights of Columbus Hall and the Exxon Club.
After retiring, Robbie and Joyce moved to Harper, Texas, where they built a new home and began ranching with Spanish goats and, later, Longhorn cattle. Robbie was never afraid of hard work. After 25 years of ranching, they sold their ranch and moved to Kerrville, Texas.
Throughout their working years and retirement, Robbie and Joyce traveled the world and had the time of their lives, visiting places they had once only dreamed about. Their life together was filled with love, laughter, hard work, and countless memories.
Robbie passed away peacefully on August 25, 2026, leaving behind a legacy built through a lifetime of dedication and love.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Clarence; and his brother and sister-in-law, Hershel A. and Dora Muckleroy. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Herbert C. Muckleroy, and Herbert’s wife, Mary R. Muckleroy.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Leonard T. Mazoch and Martha; Ted Mazoch and Lillian; Albert L. Mazoch and Mollie; Nettie Mazoch and Steve Zapalac; Hattie Mazoch and John L. Parick; and Bettie Mazoch and Robert P. Morris.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce, of Kerrville, Texas; his son, Michael, and his wife, Melissa; his sister, Kelly Muckleroy Hamilton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Robbie always said: “We came through this world at just the right time. We were blessed from start to finish.”
Services: Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fredericksburg, Texas, followed by the Rosary at 11:00 a.m. and Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m.
Interment: Friday, September 4, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Earthman Memory Gardens in Baytown, Texas.
