Flashback: Dems Silent as Video Resurfaces Showing Trump’s True Feelings About David Duke

President Donald Trump disavowed hate groups Monday in response to the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, surrounding a white supremacist rally over the weekend, but it was far from the first time he’s made his feelings about racial hatred known.
The president’s distaste for hate groups has been very clear for years, and a video from 17 years ago should eviscerate the leftist talking points.
During an interview in 2000 with NBC host Matt Lauer, Trump said the Reform Party had been weakened by its association with former KKK leader David Duke, and its loss of then Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura as a member. Trump called Duke a “racist” and “bigot.”
“Well you’ve got David Duke just joined,” Trump said, explaining why he didn’t plan to run for president in the Reform Party. “A bigot, a racist, a problem. I mean this is not exactly the people you want in your party.”
Aside from Trump and the White House condemning hate groups several times over the weekend, this interview from 2000 should make Trump’s stance very clear.
Liberals and the mainstream media apparently wanted the president to read from a detailed list of all the hate groups he disavowed, as if they asked former President Obama to do the same thing when he was encouraging the Black Lives Matter movement.
The media never demanded Obama condemn the Black Lives Matter sympathizer who killed five police officers in Dallas, Texas in 2016.
Obama’s wishy-washy statement on that racially motivated attack couldn’t be compared to the speech President Trump gave at the White House Monday, where he called for Americans to love one another and said there’s no room in our country for hate groups.
The left will continue to peddle the story that Trump was silent on the events in Charlottesville, and that blatant lie illuminates how far they are willing to go to undermine his presidency.
Despite disavowing hate groups and the racist David Duke for more than 17 years, it will never be enough for Democrats and the mainstream media.
