It is good to be back in the fold. We had a nice trip to Vegas with some friends before Thanksgiving. The flight on Southwest Airlines was nice until we arrived in Vegas. Would you believe the day we decide to fly, it seems Obama takes a trip to Vegas to sign off on the immigration executive order. Why didn’t he have all of those students fly to Washington then he could have really impressed them? Any hoo, we had to circle in the sky until the Obama bird landed. It seems the airport is not big enough but for only one plane when the big bird lands. We stayed at the Wyndham Condos which were very nice and quiet; but, when we shuttled over to the strip for play, it certainly did not look by the number of people packed wall to wall that anyone had a care in the world in this country. People seemed very subdued and never heard any excitement of money being won – only money going into the machines. The food was very expensive which has not been the case in the past.
We went to Rod Stewart’s concert which was excellent and even Rod remarked that he hoped his performance matched the cost of the tickets. Four days is about all I can take. One day we walked nine miles and no one lulled me to sleep that night. We also paid a visit to the down town area and the same thing – there were people wall to wall. The city of Vegas is a city that never sleeps, so you have to be your own gauge as far as time is concerned.
We returned on Monday before Thanksgiving and really had to put the pedal to the metal to prepare for Thanksgiving. After a fun day of food and family, I will now rest and try to return to the keyboard for word fun. I hope all of you had as nice a Thanksgiving as my family had. We have so much to be thankful for – seems one day a year is hardly adequate.
