I am still mystified by the senseless killings in Arizona, Colorado, Virginia, and now Connecticut. When reading the stories about these people they all were described as misfits, non-achievers, dropouts, or unwanted. All of these people were from well to do families but unstable. They saw the world differently. They did not see a compassionate society. So how can we as a compassionate society give these people a vision or a goal in life to fulfill their destiny? When you listen to people – they will say – he was different, he was strange or he did not fit in. So, why is it we cannot arrange our society to have a place to include these “dings” as they are referred to in our society. Then parents can have a place to help them so they will be included in our society and not feel so excluded. Society needs to stop being so quietly judgemental and include this problem in the mental health area. As we all know, dings are repairable!
