Footage of Vice President Kamala Harris attempting to explain artificial intelligence (AI) on Wednesday has gone viral online, with one critic saying it sounded “like she had a report due on AI, but absolutely didn’t read the book.”
Joe Biden launched his 2024 re-election campaign alongside Harris, which experts interpreted as a strong hint she will once again be his running mate. Continued intense scrutiny of Harris, who has a track record of making convoluted statements that have been mocked as “word salads” by critics, is inevitable.
Harris was discussing AI at a roundtable event with a group of civil rights and labor protection experts, with the conversation covering the risk to Americans from AI-generated scams, and the danger of AI being discriminatory while hiring people for jobs.

Speaking at the roundtable Harris commented: “I think the first part of this issue that should be articulated is AI is kind of a fancy thing, first of all, it’s two letters, it means artificial intelligence but ultimately what it is is it’s about machine learning.
“And so the machine is taught and part of the issue here is what information is going into the machine that will then determine, and we can predict then if we think about what information is going in, what then will be produced in terms of decisions and opinions that may be made through that process.”
A 41-second clip of her comments was shared on Twitter by an official Republican National Committee account, where it was viewed more than 800,000 times.
Several other Twitter users also shared the video, with a number mocking the vice president’s performance.
Comedian Tim Young wrote: “Kamala Harris sounds like she had a report due on AI, but absolutely didn’t read the book. It’s absolutely impossible to believe that this person made it through law school, was able to pass the bar and was the AG of a state.”
Kevin Dalton, who stood unsuccessfully for the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors in 2022, posted: “It’s nearly impossible to tell the difference between Kamala Harris speaking about AI and Bart Simpson’s book report on Treasure Island.”
A third Twitter user, who says they are a Donald Trump supporter living in New York City, said: “Kamala Harris needs someone to explain AI to her like she was five years old before she tries to explain AI to us like we were five years old…”
Vice President Kamala Harris made a trip to Michigan for an event with Oprah Winfrey, as reported by Benzinga.com. Detroit pastor Lorenzo Sewell condemned the visit, however, noting that it will fail to bring change.
Harris participated in a livestream event with Oprah Winfrey, “Unite for America,” targeting undecided voters. The 90-minute event covered her plans to cut middle-class costs, restore abortion rights, and address gun violence.
Lack of Support
Pastor Sewell criticized Harris for her lack of support over the past four years, pointing out that Detroit was ranked the neediest city in America in 2021 regarding healthcare, home values, and crime.
All She Can Do
“The only thing Vice President Harris can do by coming to Detroit is try to convince people that, because she’s Black, she cares,” Sewell said. “That’s all she can do. She hasn’t done anything else.”
A Superficial Effort
Sewell argued that her visit is merely a superficial effort to gain support rather than addressing serious issues, such as the poor literacy rates in the school system.
Genuine Care
He expressed frustration, stating that Harris’s presence does not equate to genuine care or action for the community.
Gave a Platform
“At least President Trump came to my church, heard from entrepreneurs, and gave me a platform,” Sewell said. “I am preaching the gospel, and people are being educated.”
“Can you imagine it? A kid from the eastside of Detroit,” Sewell said. “My dad’s in prison for murder. My mom was beaten every week—I saw it. My sister just got out of jail. Can you imagine it? I was a drug dealer. Jesus saved my life, and now I have preached to billions of people.”
Irrelevant
“Detroit was voted the neediest city in America in 2021 in terms of access to health care, home values and crime during her time as vice president,” Sewell said. “Her visit to Detroit is irrelevant.
A Slight Lead
Recent polls show that Harris holds a slight lead over former President Trump in Michigan, with strong support from Blacks.
Yes, failed policies aren’t a winner – especially if they were her’s and Biden’s.
She is a loser. Everything she touches disintegrates.
Just like our country. Why does anyone think things will be any different since Biden’s policies were her policies.
Just like her going to the BORDER after Biden re-established Trump’s policies at the border. and now is claiming Trump’s policy as hers. She has no original ideas of her own – everything she has said and done were Trump’s policies.
Vice President Kamala Harris was slammed this week after calling on voters to move on from “failed policies” that “we have proven don’t work” during a speech meant to detail her economic plans.
In Wednesday remarks to The Economic Club of Pittsburgh, the Democratic nominee pledged to fight for a “strong middle class” through “bold, persistent experimentation” in the manner of former President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
“When the middle class is strong, America is strong. And we can build a stronger middle class,” Harris said.

“The American economy is the most powerful force for innovation and wealth creation in human history. We just need to move past the failed policies that we have proven don’t work. And like generations before us, let us be inspired by what is possible.
Critics jumped on the line about “failed policies,” noting that Harris has been a heartbeat away from the presidency for the past three-and-a-half years and repeatedly sought to boost her profile in the administration.
“Acceptance is the first step,” former 2020 Donald Trump campaign adviser Steve Cortes said,
“Who wants to tell her?” Redstate columnist Buzz Patterson wrote on X.
“Kamala Harris says we need to move past the failed policies that don’t work. She’s telling [voters] to vote for Trump. Listen to her,” Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon chimed in.
“You’re right,” Rep. Troy Nehls (R-Texas) posted. “The American people are sick and tired of the Harris-Biden Administration’s failed policies. November can’t come soon enough!”
Harris, in her speech, also admitted that costs are “just too high” under the current administration.
“The cost of living in America is still just too high. You know it, and I know it, and that was true long before the pandemic hit,” she said.
In her new approach, Harris outlined an approach of the public and private parts of the economy working together.
“I believe we shouldn’t be constrained by ideology, and instead should seek practical solutions to problems, realistic assessments of what is working and what is not,” Harris said, “applying metrics to our analysis, applying facts to our analysis, and staying focused then, not only on the crises at hand, but on our big goals, on what’s best for America over the long term, and part of being pragmatic means taking good ideas from wherever they come.”94
Former President Donald Trump taunted Harris in a speech earlier Wednesday, telling her to just “do it,” noting she still has a little more than four months left in office.
Former President Donald Trump this week denounced Kamala Harris as a “one-woman economic wrecking ball,” and that sure fits her plans to create an “Opportunity Economy.”
Her vision to radically transform American life bizarrely presumes that politicians are benevolent, bureaucrats are competent, and there’s never any cost for government giveaways or debacles.
In a Pittsburgh speech and an MSNBC interview Wednesday, Harris portrayed socialistic political control over the private sector as the key to economic progress.
She promised to “engage in what Franklin Roosevelt called bold, persistent experimentation” — but didn’t mention that FDR practically copied Mussolini’s economic policies verbatim.
Harris is calling for “equity,” which she defines as equal results: “Some people need more so we all end up in the same place.”
How much more?
It’s a secret.
Which groups receive more?
It’s a secret.
The only certainty in her Opportunity Economy — a term absurdly capitalized as a branding effort throughout her slapped-together online platform — is that politicians will determine who gets what.
Bureaucrats will be like football referees who continually move the goalposts and boundary lines.
And anyone who complains about the rigged game will be castigated as an enemy of fairness or the woke hobgoblin of the week.
To understand how Harris’ Opportunity Society would function, recall President Biden’s federal student debt scam.
Biden announced a $500 billion student-loan-forgiveness scheme shortly before the 2022 congressional elections, hoping to buy votes for Democratic candidates, but the Supreme Court struck down the plan as an illegal abuse of power.
Biden boasted he’d ignore the court’s ruling and issued one new loan forgiveness ploy after another, despite more judicial rebuffs.
His debt schemes sought to compel plumbers and ditch diggers to pay off loans for the benefit of lawyers and doctors.
The founders included a Bill of Rights in the Constitution because politicians are notorious for foul play.
But traditional American protections for individuals will be decimated if they impede Kamala’s grandiose plans.
“Due process” will simply be any process that government does to people.
Harris’ Opportunity Economy will maximize grandstanding and minimize legality.
Sheetz, like many businesses, uses criminal background checks to hire staff for its 600-plus outlets.
In April, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission sued Sheetz for violating the rights of job applicants who failed such checks.
The EEOC — which itself uses background checks in hiring — claims the common procedure violates civil-rights law, because black men’s imprisonment rate is nearly seven times higher than that of white men, restricting their chances of landing a Sheetz job.
To assure all job seekers “end up in the same place,” the EEOC would effectively make it a federal crime for businesses to refuse to hire ex-convicts.
But the agency offered no evidence that Sheetz had shown bias against any particular applicant, or violated any law passed by Congress — only that it had run afoul of the EEOC’s lawless enforcement guidance.
Harris urges Americans to be “unburdened by what has been” — especially, it seems, the disastrous record of past federal boondoggles.
She wants to give $25,000 grants to favored first-time home buyers, even though similar Bush-era handouts, along with a deluge of subprime mortgages and reckless home-loan policies, led to the 2008 housing crash that slashed in half the median net worth of black and Hispanic households: “Wrecking-ball benevolence,” as I’ve called it.
The Harris Opportunity Economy rests upon faith in modern monetary theory, which presumes gushers of free government funding can solve every problem.
It’s irrelevant that young Americans will be financially skewered to service the $35 trillion (and counting) federal debt, as long as voters fail to connect foolish federal policies to their personal financial struggles.
Those who expect the Opportunity Economy to boost prosperity will be cruelly disappointed.
But that won’t matter, because Harris’ policies will produce “equity” — based on secret, ever-changing White House definitions.
If claims of equity don’t fly, “social justice” can provide a default victory lap.
And if the policies fail to benefit any favored minority or newly discovered gender group, they’ll be surefire fixes for “climate change.”
Harris portrays Uncle Sam as a cornucopia, but what about all the real-world opportunities that government destroyed in recent years?
Scores of thousands of businesses were bankrupted by the COVID lockdowns that began in 2020.
Tens of millions of children have never academically recovered from the school shutdowns championed by Democrats and extended by the Biden administration.
Millions of American families remain ravaged by the inflation unleashed since 2021.
Harris justifies sweeping new federal interventions to achieve “equity.” But in her Opportunity Economy, every American would be further subjugated to Washington.
Endless vote-buying schemes will be an economic wrecking ball, unleashing perpetual political warfare guaranteed to make America poorer.
