By the time they woke up on June 13, 1886, pine logs were piling up against a sharp bend in the river called Angle Rock.Within five days, the jam stretched more than 2 miles. Logs were stacked almost 70 feet high.The river was the lifeblood of the Upper Midwest’s lumber business. More than 100 companies owned logs in the jam.But for everyone else, it was a spectacle.Thousands of people traveled just to gawk at it in Taylors Falls, Minnesota. And the crowds had a theory…There had to be a “key log” somewhere in the mountain of timber. Presumably, you’d find that log, pull it out, and the whole jam would come loose.Instead of searching for a single log, though, the sawmills pooled together roughly $75,000 to break up the jam.At first, crews used steamboats to drag logs out. But it was a slow, expensive process. So the lumbermen made a decision to speed things up…On July 2, they set off a 24-pound dynamite bomb that finally broke the jam in two.After weeks of cleanup, the sawmills understood that the real solution was to rebuild the system. So they pooled their money once more and built a dam upstream to prevent another jam like this from forming.Today, the world’s oil supply has hit its own Angle Rock.War has choked off the Strait of Hormuz and damaged refineries across the Middle East.Many investors are acting like the crowd at Taylors Falls. They’re waiting for peace to be the key log that restores oil flows.But the oil industry is taking a different approach… It’s spending billions of dollars to build new supply in safer places. |
As we all know that Iran has been, “The Bully” in that part of the world and has over-priced the oil market. Placing the market in a different part of the area will stop the bullyness of Iran and make shipping more safe.
We have to continue watching Iran/Obama/Democrats – they are the witchcraft of the world. The world will not be safe until Obama/Democrats, who harmed the U.S., are put in their proper place.
