Interesting article. The pink granite from this area is mostly used for tomb stones. Most of my family have used it.

I have visited this site; but, have not tried to climb it. Some of my friends have climbed parts of it. It is just a nice place to visit. Across the street was an Italian village that was built by the owner and is a story in itself. We have visited and eaten at the restaurant a number of years. I don’t know if it is still open or not. I will have to check it out and report back. The village had a patio in one area that you could view the Enchanted Rock during cocktail time.

Our 120 acre home place ranch was west of Fredericksburg in a town called Harper, Texas, and was on a plateau. The weather was hot but with a west Texas wind in the shade it was cool and the Edwards Aquafer water was so good. Our water well was 250 feet deep and you could listen to the wind howling.
