KOMMONSENTSJANE – Could Liberal Fox News Host Be a Republican – No Base or Background?

07/28/2026

She is welcome to join up!

It’s all about selling her book and MAKING MONEY. Nothing wrong wth that.

She would probably lose her job and the fact she held on to this comment about the hat until she wrote her book.

EXTRA/EXTRA NOTE: Taxes are only up because DEMS keep raising them in their states – has nothing to do with President Trump.

NEED TO KNOW

  • Jessica Tarlov revealed President Donald Trump sent her customized Trump 2028 hats for Christmas
  • The Fox News host said she prefers to “stay away” from Trump and isn’t interested in “playing nice”
  • Tarlov discussed the exchange while promoting her upcoming book, I Disagree, about navigating difficult conversations and political divides

Jessica Tarlov is opening up about why she has little interest in getting personally friendly with President Donald Trump — even after receiving a customized Christmas gift from him.

During an interview with Jack Cocchiarella on MeidasTouch, the Fox News host and Democratic political strategist discussed navigating political disagreements while promoting her upcoming book, I Disagree, which focuses on “winning arguments without losing friends.”

When the conversation turned to Trump, 80, Tarlov, 42, said she would rather maintain her distance than engage closely with him or be influenced by his personal appeal.

“When people say that about Trump, like ‘Oh, you’d be so charmed.’ I’m just not interested in it. I think it’s a lot safer, frankly, to stay away from it,” Tarlov said.

She then revealed that Trump sent her a personalized gift for Christmas.

“For Christmas, for instance, he customized Trump 2028 hats for me, and you know said something like, ‘Thank you for your great support.’ And I get it that it’s funny for a cheap laugh,” she said. “I happen to think that he will do everything in his power to be able to stick around as long as possible … So I’m not really interested in palling around or playing nice.

Tarlov, who serves as a rotating co-host of Fox News’ The Five, went on to contrast her position with New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s decision to meet with Trump at the White House on Nov. 21, 2025.

“Now on the Mamdani choice to do it, he got himself billions of dollars of investment in New York — that is worth a photo op, especially when he wasn’t even smiling,” Tarlov said.

She argued that Mamdani was able to meet with Trump without abandoning his previous positions.

“He [Mamdani] didn’t compromise his morals or go back on anything he had said about the president — even said it to his face,” Tarlov said.

As for whether she would consider doing the same, Tarlov joked that she might have a harder time hiding how she felt.

“Maybe if I could go in and do that, but I would just look sour and sullen, and I’m not good at faking a smile, frankly,” she said.

Tarlov’s comments come ahead of the Sept. 15 release of I Disagree, a book she previously described as drawing on her own experiences and social science to help people navigate difficult conversations while remaining true to their beliefs.

When announcing the book earlier this year, Tarlov said it was inspired by a question she frequently receives about how she handles heated political debates on The Five.

“So what is I DISAGREE about? It’s my answer to the question I get the most: How do you do it?” Tarlov wrote.

She said the book explores how she works to “stay true to my values, find common ground where it’s available, and communicate across political and social divides,” with lessons that can apply to disagreements ranging from conversations around the Thanksgiving table to debates in front of millions of television viewers.

“Hopefully, we’ll be able to forge a path toward better politics and, crucially, better relationships,” Tarlov wrote.

Tarlov’s upcoming book, I Disagree, is currently available for preorder.
