On Tuesday, June 9, 2020, at approximately 2:00 p.m. either Dish, Microsoft or Google pulled the plug on my router in my home and that cut off all communications for my business.
After checking all plugs to be sure something was disconnected with no results, I called Dish, who is my provider, and they walked through my router connections step by step with all connections being in place. After no results, they then set up an appointment for this morning, June 11, 2020.
When the tech arrived (from San Antonio) he stated that he had been here only recently and replaced the TV Dish antenna and left the old dish sitting in the yard. I told him that since then a tech was here and replaced that dish because it was the wrong antenna and only made the TV problem worse and took the other one sitting in the yard – he seemed surprised.
Then we went to my office and he picked up the router and hit it on the desk and then started pulling the cables from the back and looked at them (not doing anything) and dropped them back behind the desk (still nothing happened). He started punching numbers into his cell phone and I guess was checking the system and lo and behold the router blue lights on the router lit up.
I asked him – what was the problem – and he stated that “it was unplugged.” He didn’t specify “where” it was unplugged. I then stated, “it wasn’t here.” He never said anything else but continued to close out his check.
He then asked to see the Dish that was replaced. Walked to the back and observed the Dish and then came back into the house to see if we had any questions. We said no and he drove off. I did relate to him that I hated he had to make the drive from his home office to “punch some numbers into his phone.”
So, just another “jam” session!
