Ellen DeGeneres sparks backlash after joking that self-quarantine is like ‘being in jail’
By Alicia Lee
One of Ellen DeGeneres’ jokes backfired this week after some people called her out for comparing self-quarantining during the coronavirus pandemic to “being in jail.”
She calls her home “jail.” Really?
When people make this statement – it tells me they do not like themselves or being alone? Can you imagine with all of the money and luxury this woman has and she still is bitchin’.
There was nothing more enjoyable during my time in the working world when we were looking forward to the holidays and being at home with my family.
Even today, with the virus, it is important to keep busy. You can decide -“How am I going to spend the day?” Some days I work to clean and organize and most days I write blogs or play the keyboard or the piano or check on friends and other family members to see if they are okay.
Some days I check out the blooming plants in the yard or the fruit trees to see if they are producing fruit. So much to do – if you just think about it. The importance of a day is – HOW DID YOU SPEND YOUR DAY? Remember we are only on earth a short time. Don’t waste it.
Our time here on Earth is fleeting–just a blink of an eye in relation to eternity?
