KOMMONSENTSJANE – ARE YOU PART OF LIBERAL POLICIES WHICH CAUSE HOMELESSNESS? THEN YOU ARE NOT AN AMERICAN WHO CARES ABOUT YOUR FELLOW MAN.

What happened to the United Way, the church soup kitchens, Salvation Army, and the YMCA money donations?  Where did millions of dollars of donations for supporting the poor go?  The city councils who are supporting homelessness  in these cities have some explaining to do.

Any Americans who are a part of liberal policies which have caused homelessness or sanctuary cities  in our country are part of the Obama/Democrats scheme to help make this a third world country  should be in jail.

Liberal Policies Cause Homelessness, Possible PLAGUE In LA

Posted by Ryan James | Jul 22, 2019 | US

All across the country, major cities are facing crisis-level numbers of homeless people.

What do these cities have in common?

Simple. They are all run by liberal Democrats.

Not surprising, given the Democratic economic policies of implementing rent control and restrictive zoning laws.

Turns out, when you put a cap on the amount of rent landlords can charge, the incentive to provide more housing all but disappears.

Who would’ve thought?

Exhibit A: The City of Los Angeles.

Los Angeles is a city of limousine liberals who preach against inequality, while also living in mansions that cost millions of dollars. In fact, there is a surplus of multi-million-dollar homes in Los Angeles. By modern liberal logic, they should all be bulldozed in favor of affordable housing where everyone can be completely equal.
Typical limousine liberal logic: “do what I say, not what I do.” They don’t practice what they preach.

Last year, the city of Los Angeles experienced a 16% increase in the homeless population. There are now 36,000 homeless people in the city of Los Angeles and over 59,000 across LA county.

The situation is dire in the city. According to the county “point-in-time count,” more than 75% of the homeless are un-sheltered, while the rest live in cars, tents, and other makeshift shelters.

In typical liberal fashion, the mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Garcetti, blamed the homeless crisis on factors unrelated to the city’s liberal policies. Mayor Garcetti said, “these results remind us of a difficult truth: skyrocketing rents statewide and federal disinvestment in affordable housing, combined with an epidemic of untreated trauma and mental illness, is pushing people into homelessness faster than they can be lifted out.”

It has gotten so bad that a prominent doctor has warned of a possible plague.
You may remember learning about the great Bubonic Plague, also known as “The Black Death,” that killed one-third of the population of Europe in the 14th Century. This deadly disease was initially carried by rats, then spread to humans, with disastrous consequences.

Famous T.V. doctor Dr. Drew Pinksy has warned that the excessive rodent population living within these massive homeless encampments could transmit a new plague in this century.

Dr. Pinksy said that typhus is endemic to the region, and can easily spread to humans from rodents. He added,” Los Angeles is one of the only cities in the country that has no rodent control plan. And if you look at the pictures of Los Angeles, you will see homeless encampments are surrounded by dumps. People defecate there, they throw their trash there, and the rats just proliferate there.”

He added, “Moreover, homelessness people were defecting directly into city drains, which flowed to the Pacific Ocean. We have the sewage of 60,000 people hitting the ocean every day.”

A National Problem

Los Angeles isn’t the only city falling under the weight of destructive liberal policies. As I mentioned before, rent control and other restrictive zoning policies have crippled the housing markets in other cities and forced thousands into homelessness.

In 1994, San Francisco passed a rent-control ordinance that prohibited landlords from raising rent above half the rate of inflation. That worked out to about 1% a year.

What happened next was predictable. The supply of rental units declined. Landlords began moving away from rental properties and started selling their apartments as condos. Some also bulldozed their buildings and built new apartments, because the law only applied to existing units. Stanford economist Rebecca Diamond estimates that rent control reduced the supply of rental properties by 25%.

This policy had the effect of harming low-income people, the very people the liberal policies were supposed to help.

Rent control is in effect in large liberal cities, including New York City, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

Despite rent control, overall rents are actually higher in those cities — much higher.
New York City and San Francisco are the most expensive cities in which to rent. In San Francisco, the average rental cost is $3,500 a month. In Manhattan, the average price of an apartment is $3,650 a month.

Liberal California and New York have 19 of the top 20 most expensive towns/cities in the country.

If these are the results of liberal policies at the local level, just imagine what it would look like if they had control of both houses of Congress and the White House!

That’s a scary thought, indeed.

*******

None of this is happening at the local level – it is all under the direction of Obama/Hillary Clinton/Democrats.
