One thing I always practice: When someone asks how I’m doing I reply with a positive answer. Even if I’m actually having a bad day. “How are you today?” …. “I’m awesome… !!” Just saying something positive out loud helps change my mind, and I swear it helps the other person feel better, too. Might as well focus on happiness instead of dwelling on the negative.
This reminds me of how fortunate I am, and makes the generic markers of success irrelevant.
