While watching the ABC’s New Years Eve Party from start to finish was amazing in how the audience were jumping up and down to the hip hop music geared to a certain age group. I asked a teacher friend of mine “what were they doing?” The friend replied that it is called, “dancing.” Interesting? Okay!
The entertainment was not entertaining because the words were not audible and the music was not compatible with listening. I would call it “noise.” You would think they would have some variables in the entertainment to please all ages; but, that didn’t happen. Then I searched for the Boston Pops who I thought surely would have a program on New Years Eve – nope, no such luck. So, entertainment on this night was scarce unless you wanted to watch ABC’s “jungle” scenes. I know, in today’s march – it is about animal scenes in all advertising.
Now don’t you go calling me the “R” word. Just asking ABC to become more “broad-minded” to give the young people a little rest. With all of that jumping up and down – that had to be boring – they had to be tired and, besides, when I dance, I like for someone to hold me in their arms. Don’t tell me that is “out of style.”
Looking forward to the next New Years and hope ABC does a better job scheduling entertainment for entertainment sakes.
How about a New Years Eve DANCE with an orchestra in Times Square – now that would be something different:
As the saying goes:
“And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear or understand the music.”
