KOMMONSENTSJANE – RAND PAUL SEEKS PENTAGON AUDIT, RIPPING “WASTEFUL SPENDING.

I have to agree with Senator Paul – the wasteful spending in the government has to stop.  Where are the auditors who are suppose to be watching the budget and the spending?  Are they in on the take?  The Congressional record gives the following information:

We spent $45 million on a gas station in Afghanistan.

Paul gives a good example below:

“I can give you a quick example of some of the stuff we spend money on: We spent $700,000 last year studying what Neil Armstrong said when he landed on the moon,

“Remember, he said ‘one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind,’” Paul said.

Folks, this is not just wasteful spending – this is highway robbery.  And this is why they can’t get any bills through because of wasting time by siphoning money for themelves.

Who was responsible for this debacle?

A conservative deficit hawk, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., defended his forcing of Friday morning’s temporary government shutdown, ripping “wasteful spending” the government just isn’t being held accountable for, according to The Hill.

“I can give you a quick example of some of the stuff we spend money on: We spent $700,000 last year studying what Neil Armstrong said when he landed on the moon,” Paul told “The Cats Roundtable” host John Catsimatidis on 970 AM-N.Y. on Sunday morning, per The Hill.

“Remember, he said ‘one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.’ Well, some idiot in government took $700,000 of taxpayer money and wanted to know whether he said ‘one small step for man’ or ‘one small step for a man.’

“So that’s the kind of stuff your government is spending money on.”

Paul called for an audit of the Pentagon before Congress hands over money to them, according to The Hill.

“Before we give them more money, make them account for the money they’re already spending,” Paul reportedly said.

Paul held up a Senate vote late Thursday night with a lengthy speech denouncing the GOP’s budget spending compromise that helped end the long-running military sequester. He was criticized by Republicans for suggesting the America should pull troops out of Afghanistan to help save money.

It appears ‘General’ @RandPaul is at it again. He just called for the immediate withdrawal of all forces from Afghanistan as a way to give the US military a pay raise.

Fortunately, only ‘General’ Paul – and the Taliban – think that’s a good idea.

(This is the Rino Republican Graham speaking and probably was in on the take.)
