Things have gotten pretty bad when people can’t give a smack on the cheek to people. These women coming out of the woodwork who want millions because someone smacked them are just as guilty for egging on the situation. For years, in our LARGE dance club, greetings always consisted of a hug and kiss on the cheek and we never thought a thing about it.
Guess I will have to go dig up my dance cards and see who I am going to call on the carpet.
WHY THEY KISSED ME – GLORY BE!
Me, I am getting kind of tired of all of this haggling. During my growing up in the working world, it was more like family. We partied together and worked together. Sure sometimes the fellows got the wrong message – but it was always the women’s place to put them in their place.
Culture is different too. I was told in the Spanish culture a woman has to be careful – if you pay too much attention to the man – it might get you in trouble. He might think you like him. I learned the hard way. In our office the women took turns and always bought or baked cakes for everyone’s birthday. So, I baked a cake for one of our men who was Spanish. Thereafter, the other men who were Spanish pegged me as “being soft on this fellow” who had a houseful of kids.
It took months for this to wear off. Finally, I made a lapel sign which stated – GUILTY – SOFT ON BIRTHDAYS – BAKED A BIRTHDAY CAKE FOR RAUL’S BIRTHDAY. Some people always wanted to mess up a good thing – like being nice to others.
We continued our ritual of having a celebration of birthdays.
So all of these women who are coming out of the woodwork be sure you have the right intentions. Some times it is the women who eggs on a situation. Where is the old saying, “It is a man’s right to ask and a woman’s right to refuse” or in this day and age – in reverse?
When are the men going to come out of the woodwork and sue for how women bosses raped them?
