Some people have over stayed their welcome and think they own their position.  These people have lost their usefulness.

Louisiana GOP Chair to McConnell: Resign!

If you thought the grassroots would be satisfied with the resignation of John Boehner, think again. In the wake of the GOP Establishment Favorite’s abrupt resignation, conservatives have a new target: Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

On Saturday afternoon, Lousiana GOP Chair Roger Villere got right to the point, taking to his Facebook to proclaim: “McConnell needs to Resign!!”, linking to a Hill report that revealed that McConnell’s newest spending bill would fund Planned Parenthood in hopes of avoiding a government shutdown.

In an interview with the Washington Times, Villere explained himself:

“Mitch is a good and honorable guy, but the base is leaving our party. I’m out in the field all the time and we have all our elections this year for state offices, and it’s hurting us tremendously with our elections.

Mr. Villere, who does not have an alternative for Majority Leader in mind, did offer a list of instances where Senator McConnell missed opportunites with the base:

“Not trying to repeal Obamacare, not defunding Planned Parenthood, not trying to stop illegal immigration,” he said. “That is what Republicans ran on and once they were elected they did not follow up with their promises.”

Villere isn’t the only prominent Louisiana GOP’er to call for McConnell’s resignation. Louisiana Governor and presidential hopeful Bobby Jindal has also called for Senator McConnell to resign.

Mitch has serve his time and it is now time for him to retire.  When a representative  stops representing the people who he is supposed to serve – it is time for Mitch to step down.
