This story certainly covers the water front on politics and it makes me sad that people don’t give a hoot to keep up to date with the state of the country. I hear so many people tell me “they don’t want to know what is going on or I don’t watch TV so I don’t have to listen to all of the bad news.”
I feel that if you are not well informed that it will take you out of the equation.

Ever wonder why there are so many uninformed voters (besides the illegal ones). Is it because a) ignorance IS bliss, or b) the ignorant media doesn’t report – they opine, or c) both?
I’ve figured out where we went wrong. In the ‘50s and early ‘60s, you weren’t embarrassed to watch TV with your grandparents. The worst movies for kids were Frankenstein and The Blob. You could tell the good guys from the bad guys. You knew without having to be told good guys are to be admired. Bad guys are not. Then came Star Trek.
So Spock and Shatner teleported to a planet where gangsters were the norm. Crooks were in charge. That was how their culture had evolved. Well, America watched that episode and took it seriously. We liked the molls, the rods, the clothes, and that was the path we have followed ever since.
