KOMMONSENTSJANE – CRITICISM OF COMMUNISM

Criticism of communism can be divided into two broad categories: those concerning themselves with the practical aspects of 20th century Communist states,[1] and those concerning themselves with communist principles and theory.[2] These two categories usually overlap because criticisms of the theory are usually supported by several 20th century examples. And most people who criticize communism are against both communist principles and policies.

Above is a photo on the day when the Berlin Wall is open and throngs of west Germans wait for friends and relatives to arrive from the Eastern Sector.   That is what I call “what a hell of a way to live.”  It is like living in a prison – which you are!

Anti-communists typically argue that communist theory is directly responsible for the problems of 20th century “communism”.  Communists typically argue that the theory is deeper than the practice. Therefore anti-communists tend to produce criticisms that connect theory and practice, while communists respond by dividing these criticisms into separate arguments about theory and practice.

However, one may agree with communist principles but disagree with many policies adopted by Communist states (this is quite common among Trotskyists), or, more rarely, agree with policies adopted by Communist states but disagree with communist principles.

The categories of criticisms mentioned above are discussed in separate articles:
Criticisms of communist party rule is an article dealing with criticisms of the practical policies implemented by 20th century governments claiming to follow the ideology of Marxism-Leninism (these are usually called “Communist states” in the West).
Criticisms of Marxism is an article dealing with criticisms of Marxist theory itself.

Regarding East Germany (GDR), German historian Jürgen Kocka in 2010 summarized the consensus of scholars:
“Conceptualizing the GDR as a dictatorship has become widely accepted, while the meaning of the concept dictatorship varies.  Massive evidence has ben collected that proves the repressive, undemocratic, illiberal, nonpluralistic character of East Germany and its ruling party.

Traveling through East Germany and West Germany was a very different experience for me.  It was like daylight and dark when you traveled through the two cities.   It was very evident that West Germany was a very vibrant prospering town and East Germany with the removal of the “wall” is coming out of the shadows.  The evidence was there.  Anyone having any doubt that communism is a repressive type of government just needs to look back at history and view these two cities within a city.  You must remember, any politician that drives the communism train wants to control the people and the political scene for their own gain not for the welfare of the people.

We must never allow this to happen in the United States.  The Democratic Party at this time is a political party fighting within due to the number of people who are Communists and Muslims.  Even within the Republican party we have the people who are Communists or Progressives,  such as the “Elite” part of the Republican Party;  and,  we must vote these people out because they are working against the principles of the Republican Party by calling themselves Republicans and trying to turn the party into a Communist Party.  We all know who these people are,  need to continue to point them out, and vote them out of office.  Anyone who wants a “one world order” are in this category.
