This is my morning in America!  Up at 6 a.m.,  downstairs to drink a cup of Java, sit and talk with my spouse about the state of everything –  the world and its troubles, past family funnies, and the agenda for the day.  Thereafter, the computer is turned on and  than check to see if  “Beau,” our puppy is awake.   His bed is in our bedroom which consists of a Grayco play pen with mattress and blankets fit for a king.  He loves his bed.  We inherited Beau and all of his furnishings when my sister had a stroke and went to heaven.  It was a blessing when he was added to our family.   He even came with a vet and latest of fashions.  We don’t mention to him that he came from the animal species called “dogs.”  It is amazing how he fell in  with the family.  He is walked twice a day by my spouse and I fill in when necessary  – except in the cold weather which has plummeted to 18 degrees at times.  Today, it is 32 degrees.  After breakfast and feeding Beau, my spouse will raise the flags – American, Texas, and the Exxon flags.  The Exxon flag because it gave us the freedom to be able to live in the fashion in which we live.  We loved every minute of our working lives because they treated us like family.  The lights on the barn aluminating  a huge cross signifying our beliefs will automatically turn off and  we will head for the church house which is about 40 miles away.  Our life in the country is special with neighbors about a quarter of a mile; but, the beauty of the stars and moon when glowing, the quietness with only the animals waking up, and the sun rising will always be a special since we always worked and lived in a city of noise.  Thank you, dear Lord, for this special time in our lives!
