Watching the cruise ship returning to the harbor with a lot of sick people reminds me of many cruises taken.  I can sympathize with the patrons on this ship.  The last cruise taken was last February to the Caribbean on this particular line.  From the experience gained on this cruise –  which I related to the line after the cruise – the food that was supposed to be hot was cold and the cold was hot in the buffet area.  The workers in the buffet area were not helpful and when this was pointed out – a behavior of arrogance erupted.  The remedy was to eat in the specialized restaurants so that you knew that it was prepared at that time.  The room, itself, especially  in  the bathroom, the tile grout was black with either mold or dirt .  Needless to say, we were not happy campers.  It was reported and corrected.  A can of Lysol disinfectant should always be included in the luggage.  And, as the doctor points out, always carry disinfectant wipes.  In addition, whenever leaving an area with a lot of people, plane, etc., always use nose Saline solution afterwards.   Plus, use a cap full of hydrogen peroxide in a glass of warm water and gargle (don’t swallow – just keep expelling until you feel you have replaced the saliva with fresh saliva).  Some times a lot of people feel it is easier to stay home – but then, you sure miss a lot!

The cruise line needs to be sure the workers are clean, especially if they are foreign workers.  Americans forget that other countries do not bath as often as Americans.  Foreigners always criticize Americans – telling us,  we bath too much.  Also, you should always drink bottled water because each country’s drinking water has different bacteria which your body is not accustomed.  Example, just brushing your teeth with the faucet water could make you sick.
