Who shut down the Government is the big question?  That is not hard to figure out!  The Republican-controlled House of Representatives voted all the money required to keep all government activities going – except Obamacare.  This is a fact – check the Congressional Record.  The Constitution requires the House to grant or withhold money.  All spending bills must originate in the House, which means that Congressmen there have a right to decide whether or not they want to spend money on a particular government activity.  In the case of Obamacare – the American people do not want this law and want it repealed – the Democrats passed it in the dead of night without a single Republican voting for it. 

The Senate, Harry Reid, chose not to vote to authorize that money be spent because it did not include money for Obamacare.  Reid says he wants a clean bill from the House.  But, what is unclean about not giving Reid whatever he wants.  If Reid and Obama refuse to accept the money required to run the government, because it leaves out the money they want to run Obamacare, BUT THAT IS ALSO THEIR RESPONSIBILITY.  You cannot blame other people for not giving you everything you want.  And, it is a fraud to blame them when you refuse to use the money they did vote, even when it is ample to pay for everything else in the government. 

The other lie is that the government will not be able to pay what it owes on the national debt, creating a danger of default.  Tax money keeps coming into the Treasury during the shutdown, and it greatly exceeds the  interest that has to be paid on the national debt.  When the Democratic leader, plus the Democratic Senate and Democratic House, two years ago – what did they do?  They increased the debt – giving out stimulus money to people who immediately went bankrupt, and where are we now – $17 TRILLION in debt.  So, who is the irresponsible ones?  We must hold the leader and the Democrats’ feet to the fire and not give them any more money and make them do as the American people – live within their means.  Why do the American people need to raise the debit limit and give them another TRILLION when we are drowning in debt now. 

So, it is our own leader and Democrats who are holding the American people hostage!
