Our VP stated that GM is alive – he should have stated GM IS ALIVE – IN CHINA. The taxpayers shelled out $80 BILLION to bail this company out. Was the bailout a mistake? Why wasn’t GM allowed to go bankrupt and then restructure – sure would have been a different story as far as the taxpayers were concerned?
The CEO reported that GM operates 11 assembly plants and 4 power train plants in eight cities across China in affiliation with Shanghai Auto Industry Company (SAIC)/FAW?. It was stated: we regard our 11 joint ventures as 11 keys to success (with a communist country?) – not just in China but globally. Our commitment to working in China, with China, for China remains strong and focused on the future. OH! GOODY!
