San Antonio Shooting Suspect Escapes At North Star Mall
San Antonio, TX – Multiple agencies are fanning out at the North Star Mall and around San Antonio to locate a man believed to be on a violent crime spree.
According to the Star Telegram, about 30 miles north of San Antonio, in Spring Branch, a rural female mail carrier was using her personal vehicle to deliver mail, when she was shot, robbed and carjacked by a man.
The mail carrier sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and transported to the hospital for treatment. According to Postal Service Inspector Michael Martinez-Partida, her vehicle was recovered later in the day. Investigators believe that some mail have been stolen from the vehicle.
The Comal County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Rangers and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service have all been involved in the investigation.
Authorities have reason to believe that man may be the same one who escaped after leading police on a wild chase down 281 on the north side of San Antonio on Monday.
One Tuesday, there was another wild chase which included shots fired at police and ended at a busy shopping mall, resulting in a lock-down.
According to News 4 San Antonio police located the suspect today near McArthur High School. Numerous vehicles around Loop 410 have reported bullet holes in them from the suspect’s shots during the pursuit. The chase ended at North Star Mall and although his vehicle was located, the suspect got away. The mall had a very heavy police presence but was eventually able to re-open. Area schools were also placed on a brief lock-down.
How would you respond if confronted by an armed robber?
