Dozens of Democrats decided not to join Republicans in approving a resolution honoring conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated in Utah last week.

The House of Representatives adopted the resolution, which honors Kirk’s life and legacy and condemns political violence, in a largely bipartisan vote on Friday. This One Payment Strategy Makes Credit Card Debt Disappear

Why It Matters

Kirk was fatally shot during a question-and-answer session on the Utah Valley University (UVU) campus in Orem, Utah, on Wednesday afternoon. He collapsed, was rushed to a local hospital, and was later pronounced dead.

Kirk was one of America’s most prominent conservative commentators and a close political ally of President Donald Trump.

Democrats have struggled to balance condemnation of Kirk’s murder against the memorializing of his life, with many unable to celebrate Kirk’s politics.

What is the resolution to honor Charlie Kirk?

Johnson’s resolution calls for the House to condemn the assassination of Charlie Kirk and all forms of political violence and to honor his life, leadership, and legacy.

The resolution’s text highlighted aspects of Kirk’s character and achievements, such as founding Turning Point USA at the age of 18 and rising to become “one of the most prominent voices in America, engaging in respectful, civil discourse across college campuses, media platforms, and national forums, always seeking to elevate truth, foster understanding, and strengthen the Republic.”

Some Democrats have been critical of the resolution, such as Ocasio-Cortez, who said on the House floor, “Instead of uniting Congress in this tragedy with one of the many bipartisan options to condemn political violence and Kirk’s murder, as we did with the late Melissa Hortman, instead the majority proceeded with a resolution that brings great pain to the millions of Americans who endured segregation, Jim Crow and the legacy of bigotry today.”

When is Charlie Kirk’s Funeral? What We Know

Kirk will be honored with a public funeral service on Sunday, September 21, at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, with thousands expected to attend, including high-profile political figures such as President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, will speak at the event, alongside members of Trump’s cabinet and conservative media personalities. The service is being organized by Turning Point USA, which Kirk led until his death.

Doors open at 8 a.m. local time, with the program scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. The memorial will be livestreamed via Kirk’s Rumble account, beginning at 11 a.m. ET.

Kirk had previously excluded Fox from his annual AmericaFest event in December 2023, telling Breitbart in an interview: ‘I love Fox. They’ve been very good to me. I hope we can heal our relationship, because for whatever reason, it’s gone off the reservation.’ He said at the time that he hadn’t been on the network since Tucker Carlson sensationally left Fox in April of that year.

KOMMONSENTSJANE – Fani Willis got hit with one crushing defeat that ended her political career for good.

Another lawfare/corruption case won by the President.

Fani Willis got hit with one crushing defeat that ended her political career for good

September 18, 2025

Fani Willis thought she could weaponize the justice system to take down Donald Trump.

She bet everything on a corrupt prosecution that blew up in her face.

And Fani Willis got hit with one crushing defeat that ended her political career for good.

Georgia’s Supreme Court slams the door on Fani Willis

The Georgia Supreme Court just delivered the final blow to one of the most corrupt prosecutions in American history.

Willis tried every trick in the book to salvage her bogus case against President Trump, but the state’s highest court wasn’t buying what she was selling.

The court flat-out refused to hear her appeal, which means she’s officially done prosecuting Trump and anyone else in this sham election interference case.¹

Here’s what really happened behind the scenes.

Willis got caught red-handed having an affair with Nathan Wade, the guy she handpicked as chief prosecutor in the Trump case.

Court testimony revealed that Willis and Wade were involved in a personal relationship while he was serving as the lead prosecutor she had appointed.²

The whole setup stunk to high heaven, and even Georgia’s liberal court system couldn’t ignore the obvious corruption.

Court exposes Willis for what she really is

Justice Andrew Pinson didn’t mince words when he wrote the majority opinion.

The guy basically said this kind of corruption is so obvious that it’s unlikely to happen again in future cases – which tells you everything you need to know about how badly Willis screwed up.³

“Thus, even if one believes that the Court of Appeals erred in reaching that decision, granting review to answer that question would be mere error correction, and this Court generally does not exercise our certiorari jurisdiction merely to correct errors that do not have some broader impact on Georgia law,” Pinson wrote.

Translation: This case was so corrupt it’s not even worth our time to review it.

But here’s the kicker – even one of the liberal justices saw right through Willis’s scheme.

Justice Carla Wong McMillian actually wanted to hear the case, but not to help Willis.

She wanted to make sure every lawyer in Georgia understands that this kind of corrupt behavior will get you disqualified.⁴

Republicans celebrate the end of Willis’s witch hunt

Georgia Republicans wasted no time celebrating the death of Willis’s political career.

U.S. Representative Mike Collins summed it up perfectly: “End the witch hunt.”⁵

Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones was even more direct about what just happened.

“The Supreme Court just shut Fani Willis down. Her political circus is over. She came after myself, President Trump and all of our conservative values, and has now lost – twice. Georgia deserves better than a DA who weaponizes the justice system for her own political gain,” Jones wrote on social media.⁶

And you know what? He’s absolutely right.

Willis didn’t lose once – she lost twice.

First, the Court of Appeals kicked her off the case, and now the Supreme Court refused to bail her out.

Look what this really means for corrupt prosecutors

Here’s what makes this victory so important.

The Georgia Supreme Court just sent a clear message that you can’t weaponize the justice system without facing consequences.

Willis thought she was untouchable because she was going after Trump, but even liberal judges have their limits when it comes to obvious conflicts of interest.

And when she got caught, she had the nerve to act like the victim.

And when she got caught, she had the nerve to act like the victim.

Willis told WSB-TV that she “disagreed” with the court’s decision, like anyone cares what she thinks at this point.⁸

Here’s why this victory matters for America

Look, this isn’t just about one corrupt prosecutor in Georgia.

This is about what happens when radical leftist District Attorneys think they can weaponize the justice system to take down their political enemies.

Willis thought she was untouchable because she was going after Trump.

She figured the media would cover for her, the Democrat establishment would protect her, and the courts would look the other way.

But here’s what she didn’t count on – even liberal judges have their limits when it comes to this kind of brazen corruption.

When you’re caught having an affair with your handpicked prosecutor while paying him with taxpayer money, that’s a bridge too far even for the most partisan court.

This sends a message to every corrupt prosecutor in America: You can’t weaponize the justice system without consequences.

Willis bet her entire career on taking down Trump, and she lost everything.

Her prosecution is dead, her reputation is destroyed, and her political career is over.

The woman who thought she was going to be the hero who brought down Trump is now just another cautionary tale about what happens when you put politics ahead of justice.

And that’s exactly what she deserves.

KOMMONSENTSJANE – Charlie Kirk’s death ‘intimidation’ by the left: Liz Truss….

Story by James Bickerton

09/18/2025

Related earlier – Why Charlie Kirk’s murder is a “tragic loss for our country- his ability to debate while maintaining civility is unmatched in anyone in our lifetime.”

All of you, the right and the left – can someone explain to me – what was accomplished by this killing? A young man who did the killing has lost all rights in living a life in FREEDOM by this act. And, then, his friends will lose respect from the public for their hate. Some of his friends will be investigated for perhaps being a part of the murder of Charlie Kirk.

Now – tell me about all of these folks who are cheering on about the murder of Charlie Kirk? Does it make you feel better to celebrate Charlie Kirk’s murder? What about Charlie Kirk’s mother/father/rest of the family – wife who doesn’t have a husband and and two children don’t have a dad – and how that alters their lives. The children who will grow up and not have a father? Then, all of his friends. The suffering all of the family is going through for the rest of their life and the amount of time that will be spent investigating the murder and all of those people who will now suffer and pay a toll.

Was it really worth it?

Freedom of speech – includes everyone not just the right or the left. In the U.S. that includes everyone.

Hate is a word that should not be celebrated because the outcome does not reap any rewards.

Therefore, all of you folks who are celebrating Charlie Kirk’s death and think his death is “better than sliced bread” as you celebrate – take a minute and “walk in Charlie Kirk’s wife/family’s shoes and the killer’s family” and see if you would still celebrate Charlie Kirk’s murder and walk in the killer’s shoes?

All of you have to understand – Charlie Kirk’s death does not stop his ideas and words from moving forward.

So all of you who want to celebrate Charlie Kirk’s murder – go ahead and see if your joy moves any mountains.

Is that stain on you is how you want to pass through life being remembered as “that person who hated Charlie Kirk and how you want to be called out as the person who hated Charlie Kirk?

That is how people will remember those people who “hated” Charlie Kirk – and celebrated the person who murdered Charlie Kirk.

Now, the question is – how does this person who murdered Charlie Kirk think about what he has done?

We now need to pray for the family and those who are filled with so much hate to help them through this useless act. There were no winners with this senseless murder.

Former British Prime Minister Liz Truss has told Newsweek the assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, who she met during his recent UK visit, was a “huge shock” and hit out at what she described as intimidation “on the extreme left.”

Truss also urged Oxford University to expel George Abaraonye, a student and incoming president of the prestigious Oxford Union, after he responded to the attack on Kirk by posting “Charlie Kirk got shot loool” on social media.

Why It Matters

The assassination of 31-year-old Kirk, co-founder of influential conservative group Turning Point USA, sparked condemnation from prominent Republican and Democratic politicians, though there was controversy after some posts celebrating or mocking his death went viral on social media.

Kirk was fatally shot in the neck on September 10 at the Utah Valley University campus while debating with students.

Tyler James Robinson, aged 22, has been charged with aggravated murder and has yet to enter a plea. Prosecutors have indicated they will seek the death penalty.

What To Know

Speaking to Newsweek, Truss said she met Kirk when he visited the UK this year, during which he addressed students at both the Oxford and Cambridge Unions in May.

She said: “I met Charlie Kirk when he was over in the UK earlier this year. He’s a fantastic guy. We were very keen to work with him on how we could help change Britain and Europe, learn the lessons of what he’d built in the US, reaching out to young people, talking about conservatism, talking about ideas, and what happened to him is just appalling. Many Investors Will Miss This Stock. You Can Own It Now.

“I think what has happened on the extreme left, basically using intimidation, even being prepared to assassinate somebody, shows how wrong, wrong they’ve gone, and how kind of anti civilizational they are.

“So, it was a huge shock. Huge shock. Somebody that, you know, I’d recently met, that we were all talking about just suddenly gone like that.”

Asked if political assassinations are “just a problem on the left” Truss said “if you look what happened to Trump, what happened to Charlie Kirk, we didn’t see that kind of threat to Biden or Kamala Harris. You know, this is deliberate intimidation and the celebration of his killing by people on the left has been absolutely shocking, including the president elect of the Oxford Union.”

Following Kirk’s shooting Abaraonye, the incoming Oxford Union president who debated the conservative commentator during his appearance before the body in May, on Instagram wrote: “Charlie Kirk got shot loool.” Loool appears to be an extended version of lol, an abbreviation for “laugh out loud.”10,000+ Investors Already Own This Private Stock

According to British newspaper The Daily Telegraph in a private Whatsapp group for students Abaraonye also wrote: “Charlie Kirk got shot, let’s f****** go.”

Student publication The Tab reported Abaraonye later said he regretted acting “impulsively” adding his comments were “sharped by the context of Mr Kirk’s own rhetoric.”

Speaking to Newsweek an Oxford University spokesperson said: “The Oxford Union is independent of the University. We deplore comments appearing to endorse violence—they are unacceptable and entirely contrary to the values of our community.”

The Oxford Union, which is student run but not controlled by the university, said complaints regarding Abaraonye’s comments would be “addressed with the utmost seriousness.”

Truss was UK prime minister from September to October 2022, a period that covered the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

What People Are Saying

Speaking to Newsweek Truss said: “I want Britain to have its MAGA moment…we need the type of revolution that we’re seeing in the US, the MAGA, the independent media revolution, and now the Trump revolution, that is exactly what we need in Britain and Europe. Otherwise, we are in very, very serious trouble so I want to see that. I think that the uprising from the public is evident. Look at the protests outside migrant hotels. Look at the [September 13 in London] Unite the Kingdom rally. Look at the support for Reform. All of those things point to very, very unhappy public.”

In a statement Baroness Amos, the master of University College, Oxford, where Abaraonye studies, said: “Though Mr Abaraonye’s comments are abhorrent, they do not contravene the college’s policies on free speech, or any other relevant policy. Therefore, no disciplinary action will be taken.”

What Happens Next

The Trump administration has vowed to take action against individuals or groups it believes glorified or celebrated Kirk’s assassination, and such efforts are likely to continue in the coming weeks.

God Bless Charlie Kirk/his wife/children/and the family.
