KOMMONSENTSJANE – WHY IS OBAMA QUESTIONING HIS DAUGHTER?

11/01/2024

Why is Obama making such a fuss over his daughter changing her name? Is it to give Kamala Harris some change of pace?

I would think the main thing is her safety.

Don’t all Hollywood folks change their name to something that is more appeasing for publicity purposes.

I would think of all people Obama would not publicize her new name.

Mr. Glove was her mentor for her new career. Quit trying to interfere.

You have already marked yourself with telling free/black/and 21 folks how to vote.

Again, stop trying to ruin people’s lives.

KOMMONSENTSJANE – Opinion – Democrats Trash Talk the Voters.

Opinion | Democrats Trash-Talk the Voters

Should Republicans lose this election, it will be in some part due to the contempt Donald Trump has shown his opponent. Should Democrats lose this election, it will be in large part due to the contempt they routinely show tens of millions of voters.

The media is doing its best to play down Joe Biden’s casual insult of half of America as “garbage”—he was misunderstood, it was a “gaffe,” let’s meditate on Donald Trump’s garbage-truck “stunt.” Why on earth would anyone assume Mr. Biden would again show derision for voters he’s labeled “semi-fascists,” “MAGA extremists” and proponents of “Jim Crow 2.0”?

Of course it wasn’t a gaffe. It’s the latest injection of toxic Democratic arrogance—and it explains the party’s electoral struggles. It’s of a piece with the open dismissal by the media and elites of critics as idiots, yokels, deplorables. The men accused of “toxic masculinity.” The women written off as “handmaids.” The religious “fanatics.” The millions the left scorn with a long list of “ist” and “phobe” words. If you don’t bow to progressive dogma, you are a fascist. Sexist. Racist. Nationalist. Insurrectionist. Domestic terrorist. Extremist. “Far” rightist. And a homophobe. And a Nazi. Who is bitter. And clinging to a gun and a religion.

These labels are now even being employed as an election strategy—pejoratives to be ascribed to people based on their vote. Michelle Obama lectures “the men in our lives” that only a vote for Kamala Harris will prove they take women’s health “seriously.” (Don’t be a misogynist!) Barack Obama explains to black men that a failure to vote for Kamala is evidence that “you just aren’t feeling the idea of having a woman as president.” (Don’t be a sexist!) Mark Cuban reminds us that Donald Trump is never in the company of “strong, intelligent women.” (Don’t be a weak, dumb, GOP-voting broad!)

FOX News
Trump capitalizes on Biden’s ‘garbage’ remark by wearing sanitation vest
The award for most risible ad this season goes to Vote Common Good, which recruited Julia Roberts (D., La La Land) to assist with the following ad: A female voter arrives at the polls with her baseball-hat-wearing husband. As Julia’s voiceover explains, she’s at the “one place in America where women still have a right to choose.” The wife and another woman (secretly) vote for Kamala, grinning conspiratorially at each other. On the way out, the patronizing husband gives wifey a hard stare and asks: “Did you make the right choice? “Sure did, honey,” she replies. “Remember, what happens in the booth, stays in the booth,” Julia assures the viewer. “Vote Harris-Walz.”

Or as a progressive activist Jess Piper tweeted to “white women” this month: “I don’t care what kind of sign your husband has put in your yard, or what your pastor preaches on Sunday, you can vote your conscience. You can vote for your children and grandchildren. No one will know.” Thanks for the stereotypes, ladies. No doubt millions of us females—as soon as we’ve unchained ourselves from the sink and reread Ephesians 5:22—will go mindlessly vote for more inflation, and border chaos and debt. After all, we wouldn’t want to check the boxes of spineless, stupid, and baby-hating.

But that’s the joke. The contempt isn’t working; it’s alienating large segments of the country, including once-key sections of the Democratic coalition. The working class is migrating to the GOP as blue-collar laborers wake up to the disdain the left has for their values and their work. Minority voters, too, are feeling taken for granted, on the verge of voting for Republicans at historic levels.

Americans demand more than “vote for me because I self-attest to moral superiority.” Yet that’s about all the left’s got right now. That’s because the haughty arrogance—and press protection—has allowed the party to continue living in a bubble that shields them from their failings. Look, a dozen (left-leaning, partisan) Nobel Prize-winning economists just assured us that up is down—so we’re good.

It also shields them from average voters’ views. One of the gentler (yet telling) put-downs of this election came from Tim Walz, who pronounced that Republicans are “weird.” Hilarious. Want to know what’s really weird? Taxpayer-funded sex-change surgeries for felons. Attempts to regulate cow flatulence. The expectation that fewer police will mean less crime. The 1619 project. Decriminalizing border crossings. Boys competing in girls’ sports. The word “Latinx.” Sizable majorities of Americans think all this is nuts. Yet these remain staples of Democratic policy and rhetoric.

Progressives are fooling themselves if they think a close election is proof the insults are working. The independent and female voters who might pull this out for Democrats aren’t voting in favor of this rhetoric or progressive policies, but rather against a very specific and alienating individual—Mr. Trump. He probably won’t be on the ballot again.

Insults are the last refuge of fools, and there was a day when politicians on both sides understood the “likability” factor in elections. It’s hard to like a party that views you as trash.

KOMMONSENTSJANE – Hugh Hewitt Quits Washington Post After Storming Off Live Show With Liberal Columnists Unfair Election Ad.

11/01/2024

Jonathan Capehart/Ruth Marcus are as liberal as you can get for starters. Therefore, why bother – they both have closed minds which makes it hard to try to put two and two together and end up with a fair story – rather than always ending up with a fairy story.

I applaud that Bezos was trying to have a conservative in house with Hewitt and the fact he tried to keep it level with no endorsement.

Conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt resigned from the Washington Post after feuding Friday with two of the newspaper’s liberal columnists during a live talk show — calling it “the most unfair election ad I’ve ever been a part of.”

Hewitt, a contributing columnist for the embattled Jeff Bezos-owned broadsheet, stormed off the set during the online show the “First Look” with liberal columnists Jonathan Capehart and Ruth Marcus that veered into whether former President Trump was “laying the groundwork” to contest Tuesday’s election if he lost.

Hewitt, who hosts a nationally syndicated radio show, then quit the paper, which has been roiled by owner Jeff Bezos’s decision to kill an endorsement for Vice President Kamala Harris.

He has written hundreds of columns for the paper since since 2017.

“I have in fact quit the Post but I was only writing a column for them every six weeks or so,” Hewitt told Fox News Digital.

The New York Post has sought comment from the Washington Post.

Friday’s blowup happened during a conservation about a lawsuit filed by the Trump campaign in Pennsylvania, where a judge agreed to a request to extend in-person voting in Bucks County.

The Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee successfully sought an extension of the deadline after several people who were on line for mail ballots were turned away after the 5 p.m. cutoff on Tuesday.

“Is it me or does it seem like Donald Trump is laying the groundwork for contesting the election,” Capehart asked Marcus.

“By claiming that cheating was taking place, but suing Bucks County [Pennsylvania] for alleged irregularities.”

Marcus replied that Trump has been “laying the ground work” to contest the election for months.

Hewitt then tried to get a word in, saying: “Jonathan, I’ve gotta speak up.”

“Let Ruth finish, Hugh,” Capehart, who is also an MSNBC host, shot back.

After Marcus was done, Hewitt said: “Well, I’ve just got to say, we’re news people, even though it’s the opinion section. It’s got to be reported.”

“Bucks County was reversed by the court and instructed to open up extra days because they violated the law and told people to go home.”

Hewitt also mentioned the recent Supreme Court ruling that backed Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s move to purge 1,600 people from voter rolls.

“We are news people, even though we have opinions, and we have to report the whole story if we bring up part of the story. So, yes, he’s upset about Bucks County, but he was right and he won in court. That’s the story,” Hewitt said.

After a brief pause, Capehart told Hewitt, “I don’t appreciate being lectured about reporting when, Hugh, many times you come here saying lots of things that aren’t based in fact.”

(Wrong, Mr. Hewitt is respected for true facts not fairy tales (tails).

The accusation infuriated Hewitt.

“I won’t come back, Jonathan, I’m done,” he said, ripping his earpiece out and standing up.

“I’m done. This is the most unfair election ad I’ve ever been a part of. You guys are working, that’s fine, I’m done.”

Capehart said he didn’t “appreciate being lecture about reporting” by Hewitt who has “come here saying lots of things that aren’t based in fact.” X/@BrentHBaker

Conservative media luminaries lauded the veteran radio host and pundit for standing up to Capehart’s badgering.

“BRAVO @hughhewitt! Factual, sober, brave and appropriately FED UP with these left-wing hacks posing as journalists,” beamed fellow conservative radio host Megyn Kelly.

The testy exchange comes amid upheaval at the Washington Post over Bezos’ decision not to allow the editorial board to print an endorsement for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.

Bezos warned in an Oct. 28 op-ed that the paper’s staff had been “increasingly” willing to “talk only to a certain elite,” rather than the broader American public.

“More and more, we talk to ourselves,” Bezos wrote. “It wasn’t always this way — in the 1990s we achieved 80 percent household penetration in the D.C. metro area.”

The anger over Bezos’ decision led to resignations at the newspaper. It’s been reported that 250,000 readers have canceled their subscriptions in protest.

Bravo Mr. Hewitt. You tried to work with the left and it shows – they don’t want two sides to any story – only the left’s.

Cuban made that statement to lower the heat in Kamala Harris’ kitchen. Cuban is trying to help out the Pelosi/Obama/Clooney/Soros/One World Order to get the word salad woman elected. He says she is smart. Sure – SMART ALECK!

How does he know?

So Donald Trump is not even asking Nikki Haley for….

Mark Cuban says Trump is never around ‘strong, intelligent women’
(Now Cuban needs to tell us his definition of a strong/intelligent women. Earlier he said that Kamala Harris was one of those women and she certainly hasn’t shown that in her puppet shows.)

Billionaire Mark Cuban appeared to try and spin him out of a mess, after making some insulting comments on “the View” about women who support former President Trump.

Cuban appeared on ABC’s “The View” on Thursday morning when he made the comments.

“Donald Trump, you never see him around strong, intelligent women. Ever,” Cuban said. “It’s just that simple. They’re intimidating to him. He doesn’t like to be challenged by them, and, you know, Nikki Haley will call him on his nonsense with reproductive rights and how he sees and treats and talks about women. I mean, he just can’t have her around. It wouldn’t work.”

After taking a verbal beating for his remarks on social media, Cuban turned to social media on Thursday afternoon to clear up his statements.

MARK CUBAN: TRUMP DOESN’T ASSOCIATE WITH ‘STRONG, INTELLIGENT WOMEN, EVER’

“This is what I said during a conversation about why Nikki Haley was not active in his campaign,” Cuban said. “I know many strong, intelligent women voting for Trump, including in my extended family. I’m certainly not saying female voters are not smart, strong and intelligent.

“I know he has worked with strong, intelligent women, like Elaine Chao, Kelly Anne, Ivanka and many others,” Cuban added. “I stand by my opinion that he does not like being challenged publicly.”

Jimmy Failla commented on Cuban’s post, saying, “Shoulda just told us there was an apostrophe in your statement. This is junk, babe.”

Failla was referring to the White House’s spin on President Biden’s remarks earlier this week, when he apparently described Trump supporters as “garbage” during a Zoom call with Voto Latino on Tuesday.

“The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters,” Biden said in response to comments made by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage” during Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden.

The White House immediately denied that the president was referring directly to Trump’s supporters, but instead added an apostrophe in the word “supporter’s,” and claimed he was referring to the comedian’s garbage.

Failla was not the only person commenting on Cuban’s spin.

“Everyone heard what you said, Mark. Now you’re trying to rewrite history. You insulted tens of millions of American women, and they won’t forget this!” one person wrote.

Another wrote, “You know exactly what you said Mark. Be a man and own up to it instead of back [pedaling].”

Trump also responded to Cuban’s remarks on Thursday evening.

“Mark Cuban, a really dumb guy, who thinks he’s ‘hot stuff’ but he’s absolutely nothing, is now out there saying that I don’t surround myself with strong women,” the former president said. “Actually, he is very wrong. I surround myself with the strongest of women – with the understanding that ALL women are great, whether strong or not strong.

“This guy is such a fool, he’s constantly on television being critical, and only for the reason that I tuned him out completely while President because he called incessantly. I told him, very pointedly, ‘Look Mark, I’ve got a lot of things to do, I just can’t be taking so many pointless calls from you,’” Trump continued. “In any event, that affected him greatly, because he’s a very insecure guy, and a MAJOR LOSER, always has been and always will be! Nobody likes him, nobody respects him, and he’s unattractive both inside and out! He should go back to talk about the person he was forced to support, because I didn’t want it, Lyin’ Kamala Harris. Also, he’s got no clubhead speed!

“I may, in fact, be surrounded by the strongest women in the world, including Heads of Countries, who make Mark look like a ‘baby!’ All strong women, and women in general, should be very angry about this weak man’s statement,” he concluded.

Fox News Digital’s Brooke Singman and Michael Lee contributed to this report.
