What are we missing here? Why does an intruder entering a home to rob or kill someone get any further consideration? Once he enters – he has broken the law and protecting yourselves is in order.
Some people want you to proceed and tell the robber – just wait a minute while I call the Police.
It is time to stop coddling the bad people and make THEM take responsibility for their actions.

Pampering the intruder only gives space to more of this intrusion. Potential robbers have to be responsible for their actions. |We cannot put the burden on homeowners in their own homes and the right for them to protect it and themselves.
It is ridiculous for a homeowner having to be responsible for calling 911 before they take actions to protect themselves or go and hide and give the robber time to killo/rob the home when it takes time for the Police to arrive.
What has the world come to when we are protecting the bad people?
