Makes Side-Splitting Freudian Slip, Accidentally Tells Truth About Illegals

It was a slip of the tongue from Rep. Ilhan Omar, but it spoke volumes about the tide of illegal immigration President Donald Trump has vowed to reverse.

At a news conference in the nation’s Capitol on Wednesday, the most infamous immigrant in Congress announced she is introducing a bill to repeal one of the laws Trump’s illegal immigration crackdown is based on.

But she said far more than she intended — and told the truth about illegals in the process.

Trump is invoking the Alien Enemies Act, a law based in the infant days of the Republic and signed by John Adams, the country’s second president.

While the text of the law specifically refers to a time of “declared war” between the United States and a foreign power — Trump declared a year ago in a published commentary piece that he intended to use it to “remove known or suspected gang members, drug dealers, or cartel members from the United States.”

For normal Americans, removing known or suspected gang members, drug dealers or cartel members from the country sounds like a perfectly reasonable policy — especially given that they’re here illegally in the first place.

But leftist, progressive Democrats like Omar aren’t normal Americans. To Omar, it’s apparently an outrage that a United States president wants to protect United States citizens from drug dealers, rapists and murderers who have no business being in the United States in the first place.

Hence, her news conference. And that’s where her trouble happened.

Check it out below:

“Thousands of families will have their lives upended because of Donald Trump’s actions,” she said. “Thousands of families will be separated from the ones they love and the country they love. And thousands of families will have their futures and dreams torn apart.

“It’s crucial to understand this basic, moral point. It’s crucial to understand that this will not happen because of anything they have done. It will happen because where they are from. It is hard to imagine anything more un-American than that.”

So far, so weepy — a melodramatic, one-sided rendering of immigration law enforcement that made the most of Omar’s unusually thick accent to paint pictures to tug at the heartstrings.

But then she blurted out the Big Truth — at the 3:18 mark of the video above.

“The Trump administration immmigration policy is a threat to immigrants like criminals.”

It was true in two ways leftists hate.

First, Trump’s immigration policy is a threat to “immigrants like criminals” because illegal aliens are criminals — that’s where the “illegal” part of the term comes from.

Progressives can go through semantic distortions trying to avoid that fact — “undocumented” being the latest, uttely inane euphemism — but illegal aliens are exactly that: Border jumpers who have broken American law to enter the country, sometimes having paid smugglers and human traffickers thousands of dollars to be able to do it.

But more importantly, Trump’s actions are a direct threat to criminal gangs among the millions of illegal aliens the Biden administration allowed into the country.

Beneath all the sappy emotionalism of talking about families upended and illegal immigrants being separated “from the country they love” is the fact that Trump’s opponents are hellbent on mounting what amounts to a defense of organized criminal operations that are victimizing American citizens on American land.

And Trump’s policies are very much a threat to those gangs as he moves to restore domestic order after the disaster of the Joe Biden presidency.

(It’s the same way Trump’s policies are a threat to bad actors on the global scene — like Hamas terrorists and their Iranian paymasters. The actions of Omar’s “squad” in D.C. and the anti-Israel campus protests since Hamas invaded Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, shows progressives have a soft spot for both.)

Omar’s comments made waves on social media, as such a bizarre moment that it looked at first like she had to have been taken out of context.

Even Ilhan Omar said Trump’s policy is a threat to immigrants like criminals.

— TheBlaze (@theblaze) January 24, 2025

But she hadn’t been.

It’s a joke as old as politics that a “gaffe” occurs when a politician accidentally tells the truth, but that’s exactly what Omar was doing with this slip of the tongue.

Maybe she meant to say something like, “Donald Trump’s immigration policy treats immigrants like criminals” — something at least in line with what Democrats claim to believe. She’s been embarrassing her Minnesota constituents enough since taking office in 2019 that pretty much anything is possible.

Instead, she blurted out the truth about illegals — and about Donald Trump.

And it spoke volumes.

The wishes of the majority of American voters became reality Monday when Donald J. Trump was sworn in as the 47th president. The United States can finally turn the page on the Biden administration, and Biden can now be labeled as “former president.”

After Biden’s disastrous debate performance against Trump, just about everyone except Dr. Jill saw the handwriting on the wall; he was about to get shellacked in November. He was a victim of a bloodless coup but not senile enough to strike a preemptive blow against the Democrat power brokers by quickly naming Vice President Harris as his pick.

Her joy campaign never got off the ground, despite polling by most major news operations that showed her with a small lead. We’d find out after the election that her internal polls showed a much direr picture.

Perhaps that’s reason her campaign and surrogates attempted to turn things around in the eleventh hour by calling Trump a fascist and comparing him to Hitler and labeling Trump “a threat to democracy.” Some have toned it down, but the likes of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez were still sounding the death knell of the Republic when she wrote last Sunday that “we are on the eve of an authoritarian administration, and this is what 21st century fascism is starting to look like.”

Webster defines fascism as a populist political philosophy, movement or regime that exalts nation and often race above the individual, that is associated with a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, and that is characterized by severe economic and social regimentation and by forcible suppression of opposition.

AOC has taken a page from Hitler’s minister of propaganda Joesph Goebbels’ playbook, “repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it, and you will even come to believe it yourself.” Goebbels also wrote that effective propaganda was to accuse others of what you are doing yourself.

Consider the following:

Biden attempted to unilaterally forgive billions in student loans. Thankfully, most of those actions were successfully challenged, but he persisted in continuing to pander to a small segment of our population.

Biden and his minions killed a number of energy initiatives, including the Keystone Pipeline and liquified natural gas exports. Coincidentally, he later admitted to not even remembering signing the ban on LNG exports.

Biden and his administration blatantly ignored current immigration laws and allowed more than seven million illegal border crossings through the first quarter of 2024.

Biden and his administration pressured social media companies to censor free speech.

Biden tried to unilaterally rewrite Title IX, a document that has protected women’s education and sports for decades. Thankfully that effort was successfully challenged in the courts.

Biden unilaterally decided the proposed Equal Right Amendment was now the 28th Amendment to the Constitution, despite the fact the deadline for the states to ratify the amendment passed long ago. Thank goodness the national archivist knows the rules but “repeat a lie. …”

Despite repeatedly pledging not to pardon his son, Biden had a change of heart when it became apparent, he (or someone pulling the strings) couldn’t call the shots at the DOJ anymore after Jan. 20. He pardoned Hunter Biden for offenses he had pled guilty to or had been convicted of as well as anything he might be convicted of.

Thumbing his nose at the American people, Biden continued on his personal pardon parade by (again most likely dancing to the string pulls) pardoning or granting clemency to a number of convicted felons.

But wait, to enshrine himself at the Prince of Pardons, one of his last acts in office was to preemptively pardon several family members, Dr. Fauci, Gen. Milley and everyone who was involved in prosecuting those who marched into the capital on Jan. 6, 2020. Can you pardon someone who hasn’t committed a crime?

By the way, in another lame duck move, Biden unilaterally banned non-condensing natural gas fired water heaters by 2029 with another executive order last Dec. 26. It’s doubtful he knows the difference between the two.

Added to the profligate, wasteful spending that fueled inflation and events like the tragic withdrawal from Afghanistan and pathetic foreign policy blunders, no wonder Biden leaves office with dismal approval ratings. That should not surprise anyone who can understand that threats to democracy and fascists don’t always wear jackboots and swastikas.

Where Were You During the Biden’s Years – When the Constitution was Put out of Commission and Weaponization Against the People was in Play?

U.S. President Donald Trump holds a signed executive order on AI, in the Oval Office of the White House, in Washington, U.S., January 23, 2025.

The top lawyer for the state of Washington just beat President Donald Trump in court, and he isn’t backing down from the world leader’s purported “threat” against him.

Former federal prosecutor Joyce Vance on Saturday shared an interview with Washington State Attorney General Nick Brown, who she says “led the charge” in challenges to Trump’s executive order ending birthright citizenship. Although numerous municipalities filed suit, Brown was first, and the result was a judge temporarily striking down the “unconstitutional” order.

“He got to court first over Trump’s plan to rescind birthright citizenship. His case gave the court the opportunity to stand for the rule of law, and a senior federal district judge of more than four decades, John C. Coughenour, who was appointed by President Reagan, did just that,” Vance wrote on her Substack blog. “The rule of law won in that courtroom, which means the American people did too.

Vance added that she has been “encouraged by Brown’s approach.”

“He is straightforward and all about the law, which is precisely what an attorney general should be,” she said. “I wanted to get this one straight out to all of you, because after the week we’ve just lived through, we deserve some good news. There is still a rule of law out there, and there are people who care about it and will work to enforce it.

Fmr. Trump attorney: Supreme Court went ‘too far’ with immunity decision

One question Vance asked Brown was, “Are you concerned that Trump will retaliate against you and your fellow attorneys general? On Wednesday, the Justice Department’s acting deputy attorney general issued a policy to all offices directing them to consider criminal prosecutions of state and local officials who don’t comply with the new administration’s policy directives on immigration. Washington can also impact funding, assistance, and other resources for your state. Is this politics as usual, or is something wrong?”

Brown replied, “We’re not aware of anything that would allow the administration to carry out such a threat, but we take these comments seriously and are taking a strong look at the White House’s maneuvering here.”

“Our nation isn’t governed by one person, as much as Donald Trump would like that to be the case. We will continue to use every resource we have to uphold the laws of Washington and protect Washingtonians’ freedoms,” he added Saturday.

Why didn’t you play by the Constitution when Biden/Obama/Pelosi weaponized the country against the voters?

KOMMONSENTSJANE – David Marcus – GOP Trio Missed The Whole Point of Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth – 2

1/25/2025

Google did interfere with this blog.

FOX News

Hegseth confirmed as more Trump nominees await confirmation hearings.

View on Watch

Pete Hegseth squeaked through his Senate confirmation on Friday and became America’s new secretary of defense, but he needn’t thank Republican senators Mitch McConnell, Lisa Murkowski, and Susan Collins.

For all three long-time establishment and anti-Trump senators, the main objection to Hegseth stepping into the top Pentagon job was that they believe he lacks the prerequisite experience to run the mammoth organization. Here is how Murkowski put it in an X post: “Managing the Department of Defense requires vast experience and expertise as the department is one of the most complex and powerful organizations in the world, and Mr. Hegseth’s prior roles in his career do not demonstrate to me that he is prepared for such immense responsibility.”Pete Hegseth in uniform. Never mind that Hegseth was educated at Princeton and Harvard and served more than a decade in the U.S. Army infantry. Forget that he rose to the rank of major while serving tours in Afghanistan. And disregard that he is a published author who has led veteran advocacy organizations. The problem for these senators was that Hegseth lacks the traditional credential of having worked for a defense contractor, the very type that have been captured over the past two decades by the woke agenda Hegseth has vowed to eliminate.

REPUBLICANS REACT TO PETE HEGSETH’S CONFIRMATION AS DEFENSE SECRETARY: ‘HE IS THE CHANGE AGENT’

Let’s take Trump’s last Defense Secretary, the eminently qualified Mark Esper. Like Hegseth, Esper served in the military, but upon leaving active service, he held a menagerie of high-profile jobs with legislators, the Chamber of Commerce, and eventually as a vice president for defense company Raytheon.

This is exactly the kind of resume that McConnell, Murkowski and Collins were looking for. Esper is the kind of guy who gets 90 votes in favor of confirmation, as he did in 2019, but in building that corporate CV he looked the other way as the institutions he served embraced wokeness and DEI.

Here is what Shanda Hinton, Raytheon Technologies’ chief diversity officer, had to say in 2023: “Advancing diversity, equity ad inclusion is more than a goal – it’s our duty and a critical element of our ESG strategy. This recognition only encourages us to keep pushing to create generational change.”

I’m not trying to argue that Esper is some kind of Ibram X Kendi when it comes to things like critical race theory. But he clearly looked the other way as these perverse progressive mindsets took hold.

This was the gentle cowardice of the old Republican Party, always scared of being called names by the left if they didn’t pretend men can become women and America is a deeply racist country. But now is time for courage. This is why Hegseth is the right man for this moment. While the Mark Espers of the world stood by as DEI programs and wokeness infected the military and defense industry, Hegseth was writing books about the leftist institutional capture of our armed forces and schools.

The former “Fox & Friends” weekendanchor may never have been a C-suiter at a massive corporation, but all of those companies have been complicit in the anti-merit based policies that Hegseth promised to pull the plug on during his Senate confirmation hearings.

In a very real sense, Hegseth is qualified because he isn’t “qualified.” Almost anybody who checked the boxes that McConnell, Murkowski and Collins demand would be coming from the same groupthink swamp that has made our military weaker in the name of diversity.

The American people voted for Trump in large part because they know that Democrats have lost their minds in the culture war. We don’t want men in women’s sports and we do want a military focused on being lethal, not politically correct.

If Hegseth winds up in over his head we will know it pretty fast, and I will gladly apologize to his twin detractors on the Republican side of the senate aisle, but that is very unlikely to happen, and how high is the bar really when Biden’s DefSec Lloyd Austin just went missing for a few days and nobody cared?

Hegseth has a chance to fix the military the way Trump wants him to because the American people elected Trump to get that exact thing done.

Elections, they say, have consequences and a Hegseth-led Department of Defense is a great consequence for those who want merit, fairness, and competence in the military. It is a shame, but maybe not surprising that Collins, McConnell, and Murkowski could not see this. Fortunately, Vance made sure their misguided opinions didn’t get in the way of real change at the Pentagon.
