Jonathan Turley: Democrats are ‘shredding’ their own beliefs to push back against Elon Musk | Watch

Tarlov was asking the wrong person the wrong Question? Senator Booker stalked the floor for 24 hours about all sorts of stuff and even about DOGE; but, he didn’t mention anything about why/who DOGE is investigating . Meanwhile at the ranch, Senator Booker wasn’t he a part of the Democrat stealing/looting? That is the real story here! Someone needs to ask the question. This stealing and looting didn’t just start yesterday. The people need an answer – the Democrats are responsible for the need for DOGE. It is hard to see when people are still voting for Democrats after DOGE finding all of this corruption/looting? People just don’t understand the seriousness of what they did to our country. Maybe they will – AFTER THE FAT LADY SINGS and they have to suffer the consequences.

How can this be – why doesn’t Tarlov ask Senator Booker that question. We have to understand – we wouldn’t be conducting this intensive investigation (DOGE) if the Democrats hadn’t hidden all of this loot?

Why is she trying to blame DOGE – when Musk is just the advisor to the President/contractor who is in charge of the job? It doesn’t have anything to do with Tesla cars or space? She is not very smart to try to blame the wrong people or try to distract the voters.

Fox News host Jessica Tarlov confronted billionaire Elon Musk on Tuesday over his glaring conflicts of interest as an adviser for President Donald Trump.

“So you’ve been making cuts to a lot of the agencies that have open investigations and regulatory battles with your companies,” said “The Five” host of Musk’s push to purge the federal budget of wasteful spending with his so-called Department of Government Efficiency..

She continued, “At the same time you continue to get billions in government contracts. Tesla gets billions in subsidies. How do you explain that to the American people?”

Tarlov has previously called out the world’s richest man over his businesses’ ties to Washington as companies SpaceX and Tesla received at least $18 billion in federal contracts over the past decade, according to spending data detailed by ABC News.

At least 11 federal agencies impacted by firings under Trump’s second term have also led investigations, have pending lawsuits against, or imposed other actions against Musk’s companies, The New York Times found in February.

Musk, in his Fox News appearance, stumbled as he seemingly dodged Tarlov’s question by turning away from his companies to focus on DOGE.

“Well, everything that DOGE does is an open book so we’re, I think, the most transparent action — most transparent organization in government ever,” he claimed.

He later added, “I am under such an extreme spotlight, so much scrutiny that it is literally impossible for me to get away with anything nefarious, obviously nor do I wish to.”

On Monday, Trump told reporters that Musk will leave the White House “at some point” to go back to his businesses.

Doesn’t this seem awkward for Senator Booker?

KOMM0NSENTSJANE – ABSENTEEISM VOTING DOESN’T WORK – TOO CORRUPT. Just Common Sense – Jim!

Rep. Jim McGovern loses it on Rep. Chip Roy and House Republicans over their opposition to proxy voting.

That is okay if he gets upset – but, he doesn’t seem to be ashamed at all of the looting/stealing the left did. Has anyone asked a Democrat – WHY DID THEY COMMIT THE HEIST and the Democrats stole money from their own Democrats – now that is the tip of the iceberg? You would think that someone on MSNBC would ask a Democrat that question.

That is why they call it WORK – you have to be present and accounted for…no – ifs, ands, or buts.

KOMMONSENTSJANE – Why Doesn’t the Left Want DOGE to Conduct a Thorough Search in Social Security? What Extra Money Are They Hiding There?

04/02/2025

More Democrat LAWFARE with dishonest judges. Where are the honest judges? If the left is against it – there has to be something they are hiding.

Folks, these judges and the left are trying to stop President Trump/DOGE from conducting a clear/deep dive into our government – no matter where it takes them. We are paying a lot of money and we must do what is necessary to clear the whole MESS THEY LEFT.

We are in deep trouble after their 12 years. We must check all places they hid the people’s money. If the left is afraid what they will find – so be it. Let’s go ALL OF THE WAY – INSTEAD OF HALF WAY.

Let’s don’t do a half-way job – let’s CLEAR THE DECK. Nothing is so private in our records that matters – after all the crooks have a copy of all of the records stored somewhere in the CLOUD STORAGE. There is nothing special about our records now that we have the internet. Anyone can break in and get what they want according to street talk through the “back door.”

Take it all the way to the Supreme Court, if necessary – A TRILLION TIMES TO MATCH THE DEBT THEY MADE!

We should be expanding Social Security benefits, not cutting them.

(Don’t be impatient. We need to clean it up first and then review to see where we stand because of all of the fraud on the books.)

Newsweek

Democrats Launch ‘Social Security War Room’ To Fight DOGE Cuts.

An appeal court has blocked the Department of Government Efficiency [DOGE] from obtaining sensitive Social Security data.

(Obtaining sensitive data is about the biggest joke of the season coming from a leftie.)

Newsweek sought email comment from DOGE on Wednesday.

Why It Matters

DOGE, and its director, Elon Musk, had hoped to use the information to make major cuts to the Social Security system. What To Know

On March 20, Maryland federal judge Ellen Hollander imposed a temporary restraining order on DOGE to prevent it from obtaining Social Security Administration [SSA] information on millions of Americans.

The case was taken by the Alliance for Retired Americans, the American Federation of Teachers and other representative groups.

‘Fishing Expedition’

(Yes, it might have started out as a fishing expedition; but, it sure ended catching a lot of ‘DEAD FISH’.)

In a hard-hitting 137-page ruling, Hollander accused DOGE of launching a “fishing expedition” that could jeopardize the privacy of millions of Americans.

“The DOGE Team is essentially engaged in a fishing expedition at SSA, in search of a fraud epidemic, based on little more than suspicion,” she wrote. “It has launched a search for the proverbial needle in the haystack, without any concrete knowledge that the needle is actually in the haystack.”

(This person is too funny, for words – with all of the corruption that has ben unraveled and they still deny/deny.)

Appeal Court

DOGE then challenged her temporary restraining order to the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals, which covers Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.

On April 1, the appeal court ruled that it does not have jurisdiction over the case. That’s because temporary restraining orders cannot be appealed.

An appeal is generally only allowed once the temporary restraining order is converted to a longer lasting preliminary injunction.

‘Expeditiously And Without Delay’

In a concurring opinion, 4th Circuit judge G. Steven Agee urged Hollander to decide on the preliminary injunction as soon as possible.

“I recommend the district court move expeditiously and without delay to render its opinion on the motion for preliminary injunction while also allowing the introduction of relevant evidence,” he wrote.

He also urged both sides to write detailed briefs so that Hollander can properly decide on the preliminary injunction.

“In resolution of the pending motion for a preliminary injunction, the parties should explain in specific detail the basis for their respective arguments. Generalized explanations are unlikely to meet the burdens of proof required,” he wrote.

What People Are Saying

Richard Fiesta, executive director of the Alliance for Retired Americans, welcomed Hollander’s temporary restraining order on March 20.

“We are grateful that the court took strong action to protect every American’s personal data,” he wrote in a statement.

“Seniors must be able to trust the Social Security Administration will protect their personal information and keep it from falling into the wrong hands.”

What Happens Next

Hollander will now decide whether to impose a preliminary injunction on DOGE. Given her strong wording while imposing a temporary restraining order, she will likely impose the preliminary injunction.

DOGE can then appeal that injunction to the court of appeals.

Appeals Court Permits DOGE to Continue Downsizing USAID

Posted on  by Brittany Mays

The recent developments in the USAID downsizing saga have taken a turn with a federal appeals court putting a temporary halt to a lower court’s decision.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit decided to put on hold the order by U.S. District Judge Theodore Chuang, who had attempted to block the administration’s efforts to reduce USAID’s operations. This move was seen as a win for the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and Elon Musk, who are leading the effort.

Judge A. Marvin Quattlebaum Jr. stated in the order that the appeals court’s decision was in the public’s best interest, suggesting confidence in the administration’s position.

Quattlebaum mentioned that Musk and DOGE are likely to succeed when the case is thoroughly reviewed, indicating that they would face significant harm if the stay wasn’t granted. He also noted that the USAID employees who filed the lawsuit would not suffer any harm because of the stay.

In his remarks, Judge Quattlebaum pointed out that while DOGE’s activities concerning USAID may be unconventional, that doesn’t necessarily make them unconstitutional. He acknowledged the possibility that the plaintiffs could eventually present evidence of unconstitutional actions as the case continues. However, he emphasized that the current evidence doesn’t support the lower court’s claim of likely constitutional violations.

This decision followed an emergency temporary stay issued by the appeals court on March 25, which was extended on March 27. Judge Chuang had argued that the actions of Musk and DOGE, which aimed to scale down USAID, likely breached the U.S. Constitution. He claimed that shutting down USAID headquarters and laying off most of its workforce violated the separation of powers doctrine.

The Trump administration countered this by arguing that the president has the authority under Article II of the Constitution to manage foreign relations, which includes the power to downsize federal agencies.

However, Judge Chuang disputed this, stating that the actions taken were more about the structure and resources of a federal agency rather than direct foreign policy actions.

Chuang’s order had also stated that Musk and DOGE’s actions harmed the public interest by undermining Congress’s constitutional authority.

He ordered the reinstatement of access for USAID workers and contractors and directed that no further actions be taken to terminate contracts or employment. The Fourth Circuit’s order came after the Department of Justice sought an emergency stay while appealing Chuang’s ruling.

The DOJ argued that Chuang was incorrect in suggesting that Musk is an officer of the United States whose appointment requires Senate confirmation.

They maintained that Musk does not wield significant authority under U.S. law, referencing the 1991 Supreme Court ruling in Freytag v. Commissioner. His role is purely advisory and lacks the significant authority required for officer status.

Furthermore, the DOJ highlighted that Musk cannot make binding decisions for the Executive Branch or establish policies on its behalf. This supports the administration’s position that Musk’s involvement does not infringe on constitutional stipulation

In response to a reporter’s query about winding down USAID, President Trump expressed his agreement with the move, praising Musk for his efforts. This statement aligns with the administration’s broader goal of restructuring federal agencies to increase efficiency.

The situation remains in a state of flux as the appeals court’s decision provides a temporary reprieve for the administration’s plans. As the legal process unfolds, both sides are preparing to present their cases in detail. The outcome will likely have significant implications for the future of USAID and the administration’s ability to implement its vision for government efficiency.
