KOMMONSENTSJANE – Remember Facts Count.

03/18/2026

Google WordPress interfered with this blog. When a writer can’t copy what is in print on the internet it tells us how screwed Americans are. When the courts allowed Obama/Biden to run the country without the Constitution and used sharia law with Czars is what our problem is today. If the Constitution is the law of the land – why isn’t it the book which is mandatory when someone is sworn into office? The problem is the courts bend the rules.

It is what it is – the law of the land and should be enforced. Look at all of the corruption in the states and nothing ever happens to bring justice- just a lot of talk. The Democrats get away with murder and the right can be impeached in a minute.

Look at our elections. We have to have a photo ID on SO MANY THINGS today; but, we don’t need one when we vote in a lot of states and ballots are counted after the election. Voting is not taken seriously. It is, indeed, very important since we have so many problems with the internet because it can be manipulated as we know from past experience. Paper ballots should be used with a photo ID/Finger Print attached to the vote – that is how serious your vote is.

Yes, Supreme Court Roberts was put in place under Bush – but, remember the facts – that the Bush’s all turned out to be Democrats. So what this article covers – they are doing more bidding for the Democrats than the Republicans. Just the fact the liberals wouldn’t attend the President’s State of the Union tells us how biased the lefties on the court are. That is wrong. That is part of their job. All decisions should be based on facts and the Constitution. There job is to follow the laws of the Constitution. If that doesn’t happen – they are not fulfilling the oath they took for the job

The Democrats are making noise to cover the court. It was very obvious during all the years they have allowed these fake lawsuits against President Trump to even make the first stage in the court’s system. Only one time has this court called out a lower court about its ruling which stunned us.

So, the left can’t say that the Supreme Court coddles the Republican’s.

John Roberts reveals ‘absurd’ Supreme Court notion

Key takeaways

  • Judicial Independence: Chief Justice John Roberts calls the idea that justices follow the agenda of the president who appointed them “absurd”, emphasizing that justices consider multiple perspectives and evolve beyond initial appointments.
  • Key Decisions & Context: Despite a 6-3 conservative majority, the Court has ruled against presidential actions, such as limiting tariff authority, showing that justices act independently of political expectations.
  • Criticism & Safety: Roberts highlights that while scrutiny of decisions is healthy, personally directed hostility toward justices is dangerous, noting a rise in threats against judges from 509 to 564 in one year.

Chief Justice John Roberts said the notion that Supreme Court justices are carrying out the agenda of the president who appointed them is “absurd.”

(That is true – for sure.)

Roberts spoke at Rice University in Houston on Tuesday.

When Senior U.S. District Judge Lee H. Rosenthal of the Southern District of Texas asked about the most serious misconceptions about the court, Roberts said, “The notion that we carry forward the views of the people that appointed us is absurd. President George W. Bush appointed me 20 years ago. The idea that I’m carrying out his agenda somehow is absurd.”

“The issues here now, today, nobody would’ve thought those were going to be a big deal 20 years ago. And history is full of examples of presidents appointing people and being really surprised how they turned out going both ways,” Roberts said.

Why It Matters

The Supreme Court, which currently has a 6-3 conservative majority, contains justices appointed by five different presidents. Three of the conservative justices were appointed by President Donald Trump during his first term. The Court has sided with the Trump administration on several key issues, including immigration enforcement and cuts at federal agencies.

However, in a decision on presidential tariff authority last month, Roberts and Trump-appointed Justices Neil Gorsuch and Amy Coney Barrett joined the court’s three liberal justices in a ruling that held that a 1977 law does not authorize the president to implement sweeping tariffs

Trump said he was “absolutely ashamed” of some justices who ruled against him, calling them “disloyal to our Constitution.”

What To Know

Roberts said the justices become part of a “family” after they are appointed.

“That family is not going to look kindly on the idea that, well you’re just, you know, carrying out somebody else’s views. You’ve got eight other views to factor in now, and the justices do that,” Roberts said.

Roberts said he will “always be grateful” for Bush appointing him but added the idea that he or his fellow justices are carrying out an agenda is “really fallacious.”

Roberts said the justices “get used to the criticism” of the court’s decisions right away through legal dissents, “and it can, very much, be healthy.”

“We don’t believe that we’re, you know, flawless in any way. It’s important that our decisions are subjected to scrutiny and they are,” Roberts said. “The problem, sometimes, is that the criticism can move from a focus on legal analysis to personalities. And you see from all over, I mean not just any one political perspective on it, that it’s more directed in a personal way, and that frankly, it can be actually quite dangerous.”

He added that “personally directed hostility is dangerous, and it’s got to stop.”

The U.S. Marshals Service identified 564 total threats to judges last fiscal year, up from 509 recorded in the 2024 fiscal year.

What Happens Next

The U.S. Supreme Court is in its 2025-2026 term, which is expected to end in June.
