KOMMONSENTSJANE – Brit Hume flips Iran war narrative.

03/17/2026

Thank you Mr. Hume for better defining the war. When the left is mulligrubbing about the war – it makes the leftie media look bad since they are talking about our warriors when they are mulligrubbing about the fighting between the two factions.

The left still hasn’t taken the MAGA PILL to get over the Trump syndrome illness. How many years have they had this disease. I don’t think its Trump that bother them – but their own backyard – since they can’t seem to clear the weeds. Those weeds are a faction of what we are fighting (Iran).

Brit Hume flips Iran war narrative

Fox News analyst Brit Hume has challenged liberal media portrayals of the U.S.–Iran conflict as a stalemate, using a vivid role-reversal scenario to argue the war is far from gridlock. His comments come amid heightened tensions over war coverage, with the Trump administration escalating attacks on the press and threatening broadcast licenses. The debate underscores the deep divide in how different outlets frame military progress, civilian costs, and strategic outcomes.

Hume’s hypothetical reframes the conflict.

Brit Hume countered liberal media claims of a U.S.–Iran stalemate by asking viewers to imagine the United States under sustained Iranian attack — including the killing of the president and cabinet — and then responding by blocking a key waterway. He argued such a scenario would never be labeled a stalemate, challenging critics like Whoopi Goldberg, Joe Scarborough, and Symone Sanders Townsend. Fox News host Martha MacCallum agreed, saying reversing the roles exposed bias in coverage. Mediaite + 2

Operational leverage over Iran’s oil

Hume also emphasized the U.S. retains the ability to cripple Iran’s oil exports by targeting key infrastructure such as Kharg Island’s oil tanks. He noted that while Iran has threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz, doing so would damage its own economy, as it depends heavily on the waterway for oil shipments. This operational reality, he suggested, undermines the idea of a strategic deadlock. Daily Caller

Media narratives under political pressure

The Trump administration has escalated attacks on the press over war coverage, with FCC Chair Brendan Carr threatening to revoke broadcast licenses if reporting fails to meet a vague ‘public interest’ standard. Critics see this as an authoritarian attempt to chill dissent, while Fox News coverage often emphasizes military progress and downplays civilian tragedies. This divergence in framing has become central to public perceptions of the war. The Well News + 4

Analysts dispute ‘stalemate’ claims

A report by the Institute for the Study of War describes the U.S.–Israeli campaign as steadily degrading Iran’s missile and drone capabilities, with hundreds of launchers destroyed or disabled since late February. The analysis argues that declaring the campaign a failure is premature, as Iranian strike capacity has significantly declined. This contrasts with critics’ assertions that the war is bogged down. Washington Examiner
