Related earlier – Why Charlie Kirk’s murder is a “tragic loss for our country- his ability to debate while maintaining civility is unmatched in anyone in our lifetime.”
All of you, the right and the left – can someone explain to me – what was accomplished by this killing? A young man who did the killing has lost all rights in living a life in FREEDOM by this act. And, then, his friends will lose respect from the public for their hate. Some of his friends will be investigated for perhaps being a part of the murder of Charlie Kirk.
Now – tell me about all of these folks who are cheering on about the murder of Charlie Kirk? Does it make you feel better to celebrate Charlie Kirk’s murder? What about Charlie Kirk’s mother/father/rest of the family – wife who doesn’t have a husband and and two children don’t have a dad – and how that alters their lives. The children who will grow up and not have a father? Then, all of his friends. The suffering all of the family is going through for the rest of their life and the amount of time that will be spent investigating the murder and all of those people who will now suffer and pay a toll.
Was it really worth it?
Freedom of speech – includes everyone not just the right or the left. In the U.S. that includes everyone.
Hate is a word that should not be celebrated because the outcome does not reap any rewards.
Therefore, all of you folks who are celebrating Charlie Kirk’s death and think his death is “better than sliced bread” as you celebrate – take a minute and “walk in Charlie Kirk’s wife/family’s shoes and the killer’s family” and see if you would still celebrate Charlie Kirk’s murder and walk in the killer’s shoes?
All of you have to understand – Charlie Kirk’s death does not stop his ideas and words from moving forward.
So all of you who want to celebrate Charlie Kirk’s murder – go ahead and see if your joy moves any mountains.
Is that stain on you is how you want to pass through life being remembered as “that person who hated Charlie Kirk and how you want to be called out as the person who hated Charlie Kirk?
That is how people will remember those people who “hated” Charlie Kirk – and celebrated the person who murdered Charlie Kirk.
Now, the question is – how does this person who murdered Charlie Kirk think about what he has done?
We now need to pray for the family and those who are filled with so much hate to help them through this useless act. There were no winners with this senseless murder.

Former British Prime Minister Liz Truss has told Newsweek the assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, who she met during his recent UK visit, was a “huge shock” and hit out at what she described as intimidation “on the extreme left.”
Truss also urged Oxford University to expel George Abaraonye, a student and incoming president of the prestigious Oxford Union, after he responded to the attack on Kirk by posting “Charlie Kirk got shot loool” on social media.
Why It Matters
The assassination of 31-year-old Kirk, co-founder of influential conservative group Turning Point USA, sparked condemnation from prominent Republican and Democratic politicians, though there was controversy after some posts celebrating or mocking his death went viral on social media.
Kirk was fatally shot in the neck on September 10 at the Utah Valley University campus while debating with students.
Tyler James Robinson, aged 22, has been charged with aggravated murder and has yet to enter a plea. Prosecutors have indicated they will seek the death penalty.
What To Know
Speaking to Newsweek, Truss said she met Kirk when he visited the UK this year, during which he addressed students at both the Oxford and Cambridge Unions in May.
She said: “I met Charlie Kirk when he was over in the UK earlier this year. He’s a fantastic guy. We were very keen to work with him on how we could help change Britain and Europe, learn the lessons of what he’d built in the US, reaching out to young people, talking about conservatism, talking about ideas, and what happened to him is just appalling.![]()
“I think what has happened on the extreme left, basically using intimidation, even being prepared to assassinate somebody, shows how wrong, wrong they’ve gone, and how kind of anti civilizational they are.
“So, it was a huge shock. Huge shock. Somebody that, you know, I’d recently met, that we were all talking about just suddenly gone like that.”
Asked if political assassinations are “just a problem on the left” Truss said “if you look what happened to Trump, what happened to Charlie Kirk, we didn’t see that kind of threat to Biden or Kamala Harris. You know, this is deliberate intimidation and the celebration of his killing by people on the left has been absolutely shocking, including the president elect of the Oxford Union.”

Following Kirk’s shooting Abaraonye, the incoming Oxford Union president who debated the conservative commentator during his appearance before the body in May, on Instagram wrote: “Charlie Kirk got shot loool.” Loool appears to be an extended version of lol, an abbreviation for “laugh out loud.”![]()
According to British newspaper The Daily Telegraph in a private Whatsapp group for students Abaraonye also wrote: “Charlie Kirk got shot, let’s f****** go.”
Student publication The Tab reported Abaraonye later said he regretted acting “impulsively” adding his comments were “sharped by the context of Mr Kirk’s own rhetoric.”
Speaking to Newsweek an Oxford University spokesperson said: “The Oxford Union is independent of the University. We deplore comments appearing to endorse violence—they are unacceptable and entirely contrary to the values of our community.”
The Oxford Union, which is student run but not controlled by the university, said complaints regarding Abaraonye’s comments would be “addressed with the utmost seriousness.”
Truss was UK prime minister from September to October 2022, a period that covered the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
What People Are Saying
Speaking to Newsweek Truss said: “I want Britain to have its MAGA moment…we need the type of revolution that we’re seeing in the US, the MAGA, the independent media revolution, and now the Trump revolution, that is exactly what we need in Britain and Europe. Otherwise, we are in very, very serious trouble so I want to see that. I think that the uprising from the public is evident. Look at the protests outside migrant hotels. Look at the [September 13 in London] Unite the Kingdom rally. Look at the support for Reform. All of those things point to very, very unhappy public.”
In a statement Baroness Amos, the master of University College, Oxford, where Abaraonye studies, said: “Though Mr Abaraonye’s comments are abhorrent, they do not contravene the college’s policies on free speech, or any other relevant policy. Therefore, no disciplinary action will be taken.”
What Happens Next
The Trump administration has vowed to take action against individuals or groups it believes glorified or celebrated Kirk’s assassination, and such efforts are likely to continue in the coming weeks.
