The U.S. Department of Labor plans to return $1.4 billion in unspent pandemic unemployment funds to U.S. taxpayers through the Treasury’s General Fund. An audit conducted by the department’s Office of Inspector General found that multiple states used the funds without meeting program requirements. Kennedy calls out the government for wasting money
SpaceX CEO Elon Musk and his team at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) exposed the disgusting amount of corrupt and wasteful spending by the federal government.
Taxpayer money is being used to create transgender comic books in South America, fund Democrat nonprofits, and hold hip-hop contests in Kazakhstan.
Democrats are losing their minds over President Donald Trump targeting their pet projects in the federal government.
U.S. Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) told Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro that federal spending would have been more productive if it was used on “scratch tickets and blackjack.”
Pirro asked him about the pushback against DOGE from Democrats and their media allies.
“I think, Judge, that Mr. Musk and his team’s efforts to control spending are the most important in the history of ever, certainly in my lifetime,” Kennedy stated. “My Democratic colleagues would prefer that we ask, ‘Who needs to pay more in taxes?’ The American people want us to ask, ‘What the hell happened to the money?’”
Kennedy noted that the federal government’s budget has exploded since the pandemic.
“Since 2019, America’s population is up 2%. Spending’s up 55%. President Biden’s favorite type of spending was more,” Kennedy explained. “This led to inflation and debt. But it wasn’t just the quantity. It was the quality, as Mr. Musk is showing us.”
The government is spending like a drunken sailor on shore leave
The colorful Louisiana lawmaker has criticized the government for wasting staggering amounts of taxpayer money on worthless projects.
“A lot of this money that we’re spending, things that we’re spending money on, are just money sucks. They’re spending porn. We’d be better off spending this money on scratch tickets and blackjack,” Kennedy said.
Kennedy argued the way to get the economy back on track was through deregulation and slashing spending.
“We will never get prices down and control inflation until we deregulate the economy so goods and services will cost less, until we design a tax code that looks like somebody designed it on purpose, and until we control spending. That’s just Econ 101,” Kennedy noted.
The federal government doesn’t care if it wastes taxpayer money because it’s not theirs.
Musk highlighted a shocking example of wasteful spending during an interview with Fox News host Bret Baier.
The government spent $1 billion on a 10-question survey for National Parks.
“A billion dollars for a simple online survey — ‘Do you like the National Park?,’ and then there appeared to be no feedback loop for what would be done with that survey,” Musk told Baier. “So the survey would just go into nothing. It was insane.”
The Washington, D.C. Swamp was used to the bloated federal budget being out of the spotlight.
