Seems like MISPLACED FUNDS were the order of the day in a lot of these departments.
Photo of Mr. Musk removed due to the nature of the pose. It seemed this writer was trying to exploit Mr. Musk. It was asked in this column – where is the fraud? The fact that the funds were misplaced indicates fraud. You don’t misplace this amount of money by error in my opinion and it continues to happen over and over during Musk’s investigation in a lot of the departments.
Is there an explanation for ALL of these MISPLACED funds? How does this happen? One billion dollars is a lot of money for it to be misplaced. Explanation, please?

Another $1 Billion Recovered in ‘Misplaced Funds’: DOGE
The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by Elon Musk, has reportedly recovered $1.9 billion in misplaced funds by the Biden administration. The amount originated from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and was deemed unnecessary due to a flawed process. The Trump administration is reportedly planning significant staff reductions at HUD, with potential layoffs affecting up to half of its workforce.
Some divisions may face cuts as severe as 75%. Agency officials have expressed concern over these drastic targets. HUD Secretary Scott Turner stated, “$1.9 billion of HUD money was just recovered after being misplaced during the Biden administration due to a broken process. These funds were earmarked for the administration of financial services, but were no longer needed.”
Turner added, “We will be very detailed and deliberate about every dollar spent in serving tribal, rural and urban communities across America.”
One notable program under threat is the Green and Resilient Retrofit Program, established by the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, which has facilitated over $1 billion for energy-efficient upgrades in HUD-subsidized properties. The program’s cancellation could result in substantial job losses in the construction sector.
Turner said, “We are no longer in a business-as-usual posture and the DOGE task force will play a critical role in helping to identify and eliminate waste, fraud and abuse and ultimately better serve the American people.

Where’s the fraud? Musk’s claims of DOGE’s savings crumble under closer inspection.
The American Federation of Government Employees, represented by President Antonio Gaines, has expressed alarm over the potential impact on various programs. Gaines said, “Federal employees are homeowners, too,” adding, “Many may now face their own risk of foreclosure.”
Former HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan said, “Record high housing costs are putting the squeeze on families in every part of this country,” added, “Arbitrary cuts to staff and funding will only serve to destabilize our housing system and drive up costs for both renters and owners.”
