Kamala Harris signed this letter that just came back to haunt her

The record shows the exact opposite is true.

Harris was one of the Democrat Senators who signed an April 27, 2018, letter to the chairs and ranking members of both the Senate Appropriations Committee and Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security demanding they reject more funding to secure the border.

“We urge you to reduce funding for the administration’s reckless immigration enforcement operations that are tearing families apart and harming our economy,” the letter Harris signed read.

Harris under fire over her role as Joe Biden’s border czar

Donald Trump’s campaign debuted a new swing state ad blitz hammering Kamala Harris for her disastrous performance as Joe Biden’s border czar.

Harris helped Biden smuggle 10,000,000 illegal aliens into America and looked the other way while drug cartels trafficked deadly fentanyl into the country.

Polls show immigration is one of the two biggest issues to voters and that it’s also Harris’ chief political weakness.

Harris’ campaign chose to fight back on with an ad full of bizarre claims about Harris’ record on immigration that could only be true in an alternate universe where Joe Biden and Harris secured the border.

In the ad, the narrator claims that Harris supported funding for more border patrol agents, whereas Donald Trump opposed money for more border patrol agents.

Harris’ 2018 letter

The record shows the exact opposite is true.

Harris was one of the Democrat Senators who signed an April 27, 2018, letter to the chairs and ranking members of both the Senate Appropriations Committee and Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security demanding they reject more funding to secure the border.

“We urge you to reduce funding for the administration’s reckless immigration enforcement operations that are tearing families apart and harming our economy,” the letter Harris signed read.

Harris and her fellow Democrats want to cut funding for immigration detention facilities.

“In line with our deep concern about the administration’s embrace of indiscriminate enforcement, we urge the Committee to reduce funding for beds in the federal immigration detention system,” they say, citing limited oversight and “inhumane conditions,” the letter added.

And finally, Harris and the other Democrat signatories to the letter called on the Senators “to reject President Trump’s proposal for funding to hire new Border Patrol personnel at this time.”

It’s right there in black and white.

Harris is the one on record opposing new funding for border patrol.

Donald Trump and his team were probably thrilled that Harris put out an ad on immigration.

Any day that the narrative of the campaign focuses on immigration and the border is a day that Donald Trump is winning and Kamala Harris is losing.
