Country singer John Rich has taken a swipe at President Joe Biden by sharing a post from a satirical website.

Political observers view the 2024 election as one of the most important in modern history. Biden and Donald Trump, the presumptive Democratic and Republican presidential nominees respectively, are set to face off in a rematch of 2020. The two have sparred over issues such as the economy, abortion rights, and democracy.

As the election draws closer, Biden and Trump’s ages and cognitive abilities have been major talking points. Both have made regular gaffes on the campaign trail, such as incorrectly naming fellow politicians and world leaders.

Rich is open about his political views on X, formerly Twitter, and often criticizes Biden and liberal politics in general. Newsweek emailed a spokesperson for Rich and for Biden for comment Wednesday.

On Monday, he reshared a post from the X account belonging to The Babylon Bee, a satirical website with the tagline: “Fake news you can trust.” The post made fun of Biden’s cognitive ability, and Rich added a one-word response.

“Trump Preps For Debate Against Biden By Going to Nursing Home And Arguing With Dementia Patients,” the post Rich reshared read, to which he simply added: “This.”

At the time of writing, the post from The Babylon Bee had been viewed more than 2.5 million times.

This isn’t the first time that Rich has taken to the social-media platform to share his thoughts on Biden and the upcoming election. On June 11, the country singer wrote about what it would mean if people were to vote for the incumbent president in the upcoming election.

“Voting for Biden again would be like backing the Titanic up to take another run at the iceberg,” Rich wrote. At the time of writing, his post had been viewed 365,900 times.

People were quick to make fun of Rich in the comments, though, with one person writing: “Sounds like your music career.”

“Shut up, nerd,” posted another X user, to which Rich replied: “haha! What kind of decent comedian has fewer than 300 followers? Now THAT is funny:).”

While there was some backlash in the comment section of Rich’s post, others agreed with his sentiment.

“If you want another 9/11 than go ahead and vote for Biden. If you want another 9/12 of unity and national security vote for Trump,” one X user commented.

“I cannot even imagine what kind of people could pull the lever for Biden after seeing the destruction he has brought upon the American people for nearly 4 years,” someone else wrote.

A third person added: “Very well said.”

What do marble, limestone, travertine and Biden have in common? For one, they’re all sedimentary stones—although something tells me you knew …
