Shame on Biden’s handlers for putting him in this position.

US President Joe Biden has once more exhibited his lack of comprehension regarding international affairs. In a recent faux pas, he incorrectly identified the Israeli city of Haifa as the Palestinian town Rafah in the Gaza Strip. This error took place during an interview on his campaign trail in Scranton, Pennsylvania this past Wednesday. Alarmingly, Biden was trying to claim credit for preventing Israel from attacking its own city.

His exact words were: “I made it clear to the Israelis, don’t move on Haifa”, followed by a long pause and some unintelligible mumbling. This statement not only exposes his limited understanding but also brings into question his capability to manage delicate international issues.

As reported by Breitbart, Biden was attempting to take credit for pressuring Israel in response to a question about how he handled anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian protesters who had been tailing him for months.

Biden seems to have been trying to stop Israel from entering Rafah, a city on the Gaza-Egypt border believed to be home to the last Hamas battalions and where the remaining Israeli hostages are held.

The fact that Biden mixed up Haifa with Rafah is concerning. Haifa is in fact Israel’s third-largest city, following Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. It has a large port in a natural harbor and represents a symbol of coexistence between Arabs and Jews. Additionally, it serves as headquarters for the Baha’i faith.

This episode once more underscores Biden’s deficiency in understanding international relations. It raises serious doubts about his ability to effectively and responsibly handle sensitive geopolitical issues.
