The word “cult” comes from the Latin cultus, a noun with meanings ranging from “tilling, cultivation” to “training or education” to “adoration.”

If climate alarmism is based on science, then challenging climate alarmism is also science since that is exactly how science has advanced over the years. However, if climate alarmism is a cult and challenging that cult brings about derision and threats, which it often does, then we know for certain that climate alarmism is a cult and is not based on scientific methodology and facts.
Although there is no general consensus about how a cult is different from any other religious organisation, cult members are exploited by fanatics and/or vested interests within the cult who are given to unsubstantiated ideas. Whether we describe climate alarmism as a cult or religion, the end result is the same even though the members come from diverse backgrounds and may join for different reasons with cult leaders looking for control and profit.
Cults usually have a charismatic leader or an authority that sets out the doctrine for its followers. In the case of the climate cult, it is the authority of the political/ideological Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), spawned from the United Nations with the central aim of persuading world leaders and all their followers that the trivial level of atmospheric carbon dioxide is already resulting in dangerous global warming, sea level rise, ice sheet melt, extreme weather and a variety of other problems.
The facts, ignored by cultists, clearly show otherwise.
The climate cultists argue that we are already seeing increasing floods, drought, cyclones, tornadoes, wildfires, disease, mass extinction, ice sheet collapse, dangerous sea level rise and just about anything that threatens life on Earth. All are blamed on the trivial levels of colourless, odourless, non-toxic, life-giving atmospheric carbon dioxide.
After 50 years of proselytising, none of the climate cult claims have been backed up by empirical evidence and, not unexpectedly, none of their dire predictions have materialised.
Some climate cultists have confessed their climate sins before potted plants, saying:
“Today in chapel, we confessed to plants. Together, we held our grief, joy, regret, hope, guilt and sorrow in prayer; offering them to the beings who sustain us but whose gift we too often fail to honor.”
Cláudio Carvalhaes, Theological associate professor of worship said this confession of climate sins before potted plants helps “create rituals to mourn the earth.”

To give the Earth or aspects of nature “rights” is simply cultist nonsense and has no place in science.
In 2019, hundreds of people in Switzerland held a mourning ceremony for a retreating glacier, blaming human-caused climate change for the retreat of this glacier whilst ignoring advancing glaciers such as the Ryder glacier in Greenland and the Jostedalsbreen glacier in Norway.
Those mourning the retreating glacier ignore recent discoveries of artifacts in Norway where 4,000 finds across 66 sites have been made following past glacier retreat that occurred well before the Industrial Revolution. Those finds showed how:

Extinction Rebellion is an apocalyptic cult that wants you to give up everything of material value whether it’s the meat you eat, the car you drive, or the clothes you wear that are likely to be made from oil-based synthetic materials. Green cultists should try to imagine a world without the thousands of items made from the petrochemical industries. As Ronald Stein points out:

Collectively, the current collection of green cultists and their political and opportunistic followers show all the trappings of a religious congregation. They have Saint Greta railing against those sinners who disagree with them whilst she, like so many others, issues warnings of the climate apocalypse that never comes.

Supporters of the climate cult demonstrate their adherence to their cult by refusing to debate those who are well qualified in climate science and would bring inconvenient facts to the table. Rather, they prefer to use indoctrination and viciously attack, insult or attempt to ridicule anybody who dares to challenge their dogma. Climate cultists in the media routinely ignore or delete any factual information that challenges their dogma. The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) being notable examples.

Cult members from politics and the news media have deliberately avoided debate whilst they ignore or remove articles that challenge their religious dogma. Magazines such as Forbes dismiss articles critical of the cultist belief such as the one by environmentalist Michael Shellenberger, in which he pointed out there is no climate crisis. Wikipedia, arguably the most read reference work in history, is clearly biased when it comes to “editing” information about climate change as are media outlets such as The Guardian and The New York Times:
Like the inquisition of old, some climate cultists have called for the imprisonment of those who dare to present them with empirical data that challenges their dogma whilst they invariably fail to produce any empirical evidence to support their cult beliefs.
The many failed computer model predictions contribute to their Bible.
Many politicians are likened to cult supporters, as are a number of shameless scientists who promote climate alarmism, trusting this will open the door to more research funding whilst adding to their curriculum vitae.
The fact that the vast majority of well-credentialled scientists reject climate alarm dogma, is ignored by the climate cultists. They also ignore the fact that many scientists left the IPCC when they realized that the IPCC was spawned from the United Nations to deliberately spread climate alarm to gullible politicians and the sensation-seeking media through its political/ideological, “not so gently massaged” Summaries for Policymakers.

Incredibly, many in the climate cult believe that over the last 500 million years, the Earth has had a remarkably stable climate. They ignore (perhaps they don’t know) the huge temperature swings over geologic time and the fact that atmospheric carbon dioxide has never featured in those temperature swings. The cultists always seek new recruits and ask members of the public to faithfully believe that the slight increase of carbon dioxide since the Industrial Revolution is driving the planet to its doom when all available empirical data show this is not the case:
Climate cultists, like other failed prophets before them, repeatedly forecast the end of life as we know it if we don’t repent and accept their gospel.
The public should reflect on the many failed, predictions from the climate cult disciples, initially warning us of famine, a toxic atmosphere, an ice age that was soon to be upon us and, more recently, catastrophic global warming. Sadly, many of the cult disciples are scientists who know how climate cult members can access recognition, easy funding and publicity. This has led to alarmist, if not silly prophesies being made by those scientists.
In 1967, Stanford University biologist Dr. Paul Ehrlich said:
“It is already too late for the world to avoid a long period of famine. The time of famine is upon us and will be at its worst and most disastrous by 1975.” – The Salt Lake Tribune, 17th November,1967.
In 1970, Harvard biologist Dr. George Wald predicted that:
“Civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against (climate) problems facing mankind.”
In 1970, Dr. Paul Ehrlich continued with his prophesy of doom, saying:
“Population will inevitably and completely outstrip whatever small increases in food supplies we make. The death rate will increase until at least 100-200 million people per year will be starving to death during the next ten years.”
In 1970, Dr. Peter Gunter, a professor at North Texas University said:
“Demographers agree almost unanimously on the following grim timetable: by 1975 widespread famines will begin in India; these will spread by 1990 to include all of India, Pakistan, China and the Near East, Africa. By the year 2000 or conceivably sooner, South and Central America will exist under famine conditions. By the year 2000, thirty years from now, the entire world, with the exception of Western Europe, North America and Australia will be in famine.”
In 1970, Dennis Hayes, chief organiser for Earth Day, said:
“It’s already too late to avoid mass starvation.”
In fact, the number of people at risk of starvation dropped from 25% to 10% globally as a result of genetically modified seeds and advances in irrigation-boosted crop yields. Additionally, the global population almost doubled and agricultural capacity increased dramatically whilst rates of starvation have fallen markedly.
In 1970, ecologist at the University of California Dr. Kenneth Watt was worried about global cooling, saying:
“The world has been chilling sharply for about twenty years. If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder in the year 2000. This is about twice what it would take to put us into an ice age.”
In 1970, Life magazine stated that scientists had:
“solid experimental and theoretical evidence” to believe that “In a decade, urban dwellers will have to wear gas masks to survive air pollution … by 1985 air pollution will have reduced the amount of sunlight reaching Earth by one half.”
In fact, the World Health Organisation (WHO) pointed out how air quality has continued to improve globally with a sharp decline in industrialised nations:
In 1970, Newsweek Magazine reported:
“One theory assumes that the earth’s cloud cover will continue to thicken as more dust, fumes, and water vapor are belched into the atmosphere by industrial smokestacks and jet planes. Screened from the sun’s heat, the planet will cool, the water vapor will fall and freeze, and a new Ice Age will be born.”
In 1970, Dr. James Lodge a scientist at the Centre for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado said:
“If the current rate of increase in electric power generation continues, the demand for cooling water will boil dry the entire flow of the rivers and streams of continental United States.” – The Boston Globe, April 16, 1970.

In 1971, NASA’s Dr. S. Rasool predicted:
“In the next 50 years, the fine dust that man constantly puts into the atmosphere, by fossil fuel burning, could screen out so much sunlight that the average temperature could drop by 6 degrees.” – The Washington Post, July 9th,1971.
On January 5th, 1978, Walter Sullivan reported in the New York Times that an international team of scientists said there was no end in sight to the 30 years of global cooling, despite increasing levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide.
After numerous failed cooling predictions, the climate cultists moved on to dire predictions about global warming.
NASA’s (now retired) scientist Dr. James Hansen warned in 2009 that “President Obama only has four years to save the Earth.”
Hansen has made alarmist predictions about heat waves, drought, an increasing number of hot days, Arctic ice loss, lake levels and sea levels. All proved to be wrong.
On the 20th March, 2000, Charles Onians said that snow will disappear from our lives. He quoted Dr. David Viner from the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia. Viner said:
“Within a few years winter snowfall will be a rare and exciting event.”
Other unfounded snow-disappearance predictions have been made by scientists including Dr. Mojib Latif from Germany’s GEOMAR Heimholtz Centre for Ocean Research. He predicted, with no time limits:

Many of the cult disciples are politicians who preach climate alarm because it is party policy. They generously promise to deliver us from imaginary disaster.
The ridiculous, failed prophesies of climate doom have been made by attention-seeking politicians such as the Canadian Greens politician Elizabeth May who said in 2009:
“We have hours to act to avert a slow-motion tsunami that could destroy civilization as we know it.”
The UK’s former Prime Minister Gordon Brown said in 2009:
“We have 50 days to save the world from global warming.”
Al Gore said in 2006:
“We have 10 years to save the planet from turning into a total frying pan.”
Adding to his nonsense, in 2008, Gore predicted the disappearance of the Arctic ice cap within 5 years:
In 2014, France’s Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said:
“We have 500 days to avoid climate chaos.”
Australian Prime Ministers, past and present, have added their voices to the climate cult choir with Kevin Rudd saying in 2007 that climate change is “A great moral challenge.”
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese
In 2022, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese went to South Australia’s Riverland and attributed the flooding there to climate change, displaying his ignorance by ignoring all the many past episodes of flooding across Australian flood plains.
The church of the climate cult was kick-started by the United Nations where officials have made their socialist intentions clear in that they want to use imaginary “catastrophic anthropogenic global warming” aka “climate change” aka “extreme weather” to bring about the collapse of industrialised nations, establish global governance and oversee the transfer of wealth from developed countries that have earned it to those developing countries that simply want it.
Although tithing hasn’t been mentioned by the church of the climate cult, the UN attempted to persuade developed nations to provide climate compensation to the tune of $100 billion a year by 2020 with a commitment to pay 1.5% of their GDP annually.
Paragraph 33 of annex 1 reads:

In 2014, Australia’s Foreign Minister Julie Bishop pledged 200 million dollars to the UN’s Green Climate Fund whilst Australia’s climate finance from 2020 to 2022 was close to 2 billion dollars:
Australia’s Labor Government has announced that it will re-join the fund after former Liberal Prime Minister Scott Morrison said he would no longer put money into the UN’s Green Climate Fund. The Labor Government pledge came during a “pledging conference” in Germany resulting in a $3.2billion commitment by Britain’s Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, and a $1.6billion pledge by US President Joe Biden.
Australia’s Foreign Minister Penny Wong promised that Australia would resume support for the fund with a “modest contribution” before the end of the year:

Pledges were received from France (€1.61bn), Iceland ($US3.2m), Luxembourg (€50m), Slovakia (€2.2m), Slovenia (€1.5m) and Spain (€225m).
These pledges follow earlier commitments made by Austria (€160m), Canada ($C450m), Czechia ($US4m), Denmark ($US232m), Germany (€2bn), Monaco (€3.3m), the Republic of Korea ($US300m) and the United Kingdom ($US2bn).
The US gave only two-thirds of its promised $US2bn in 2014 and did not give any money in 2019.
Fortunately, not all politicians were fooled by the UN’s goals. Canada’s former Prime Minister Stephen Harper said:

In order to justify the UN’s plea for climate compensation money, United Nations alarmist officials have made equally laughable and failed predictions of climate doom, with former UN climate chief, Christiana Figueres saying in 2017:
“The world has three years left to stop dangerous climate change.”
The UN’s Maurice Strong said in 1972:
“The world has just 10 years to avoid climate catastrophe.”
Strong was the driving force behind the push for global governance by the UN when he suggested a world tax on monetary transactions of 0.5% which would have given the UN an annual income of $1.5 trillion. Strong made clear the UN’s goal:

The UN’s Mostafa Tolba said in 1982:

Another UN official, Connie Hedegaard said she doesn’t care about scientific facts or that people would face higher energy costs:
“Let’s say that science, some decades from now, said ‘we were wrong, it was not about climate’, would it not in any case have been good to do many of the things you have to do in order to combat climate change?”
Hedegaard doesn’t seem to care about the millions worldwide who are already suffering and dying because they can’t get access to an inexpensive, reliable electricity supply. She callously added:

The UN’s Noel Brown said in 1989:

At least the UN’s Tim Wirth admitted that climate change alarmism is all about politics, saying:

Antonio Guterres
The current High Priest of the climate cult is António Manuel de Oliveira Guterres. He is a Portuguese politician and was former secretary-general of the Portuguese Socialist Party from 1992 to 2002. He has served as secretary-general of the United Nations (UN) since 2017, being re-appointed to a second term in June 2021.
Guterres is either a serial liar when it comes to talking about the climate or he is blissfully unaware of the facts since he continually preaches about imaginary disasters from climate-induced wildfires, floods, cyclones, hurricanes, pollution, disease, loss of sea ice, ice caps, warming and acidifying oceans, the death of coral reefs, famines, all which he attributes to carbon dioxide emissions. Of course, Guterres does a lot of arm-waving from his pulpit but provides no empirical evidence in support of his wild claims.
He continues with his alarmist nonsense, saying:

Other nonsense predictions have come from scientifically illiterate royalty. King Charles, who might be seen as one of the High Priests of the climate cult, said in 2009:

Displaying further his ignorance, Charles said:

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue to lecture us about reducing carbon dioxide emissions whilst having a fleet of 5 Land Rover Discoveries and their Range Rover shipped over to South Africa from the UK so they could travel around the country. The Royal hypocrites had previously taken four private jet flights in just 11 days.
They also think nothing of flying off on a Caribbean holiday using their private jet. As Eric Worrall observed:

Prince William, another scientifically illiterate Royal, also sees himself as a climate cult High Priest. In 2010, speaking at the Sandringham Estate, he displayed his ignorance by warning us of a very drastic change from (imaginary) rising sea levels caused by (imaginary) melting ice sheets. He said:

The royal hypocrites and other climate cultists are clearly unaware of the tens of thousands of scientists that have signed petitions to say there is no climate emergency. They need to know (perhaps they choose to ignore) that more than 4,000 scientists, including 70 Nobel Laureates have signed the Heidelberg Appeal to say there is no climate emergency:
They need to know that more than 31,000 scientists, including geophysicists, climatologists, meteorologists, oceanographers and environmental scientists, signed the Oregon Petition to say there is no climate emergency:

Following on from his previously failed predictions, in 2020 Charles has now given us 10 years to save the planet:

Many in the media have joined the climate cult with their own foolish reports and predictions.
In 1974, The Guardian’s science correspondent Anthony Tucker warned of the coming ice age, saying:
“Worldwide and rapid trends towards a mini ice-age are emerging from the first long-term analyses of satellite weather pictures. – The Guardian, January 29, 1974.
Media commentators, always eager to exaggerate and even lie about the imaginative climate crisis continue to make ridiculous claims and predictions. In 2011, John Stokes from The Guardian claimed that:
“Over 4.5 billion people could die from global warming related causes by 2012.”
In 1971, the Sydney Morning Herald claimed:
“The Great Barrier Reef will be dead in 6 months.”
The Great Barrier Reef is thriving
In fact, the Great Barrier Reef is in pristine condition.
On September 26, 1988, The Canberra Times reported that:
“A rise in sea level is threatening to completely cover the Indian Ocean nation (Maldives) of 1196 small islands within the next 30 years.”

The Australian Labor Party’s Linda Burney appeared on the Q & A program in 2016 and stated that Pacific islands are “sinking” due to imaginary sea level rise. She delivered this nonsense, despite Dr’s Webb and Kench having used historic aerial photographs and satellite images in 2010 to show that 23 out of 27 Pacific Islands had either remained intact or had actually grown in area. But don’t expect politician Burney to read such reports and admit that she is wrong.

In 2002, George Monbiot wrote in The Guardian:
“Within as little as 10 years, the world will be faced with a choice: arable farming either continues to feed the world’s animals or it continues to feed the world’s people. It cannot do both.”
Not surprisingly, we can easily feed both.
Environmental activists have joined the climate cult and continue to exaggerate and lie about the imaginary climate crisis, including Sir David Attenborough and Dr. David Suzuki who warned in 1990:
“We have fewer than 10 years to turn things around. We are the last generation on Earth that can save the planet.”
Despite none of those silly predictions from the climate cultists having come nowhere near fruition, they ignore their failed prophesies and simply move on to make more equally dramatic and silly predictions about climate doom.
Inevitably, their later predictions will also fail.
In 2019, Mark Perry has provided an excellent list of failed climate predictions over the last 50 years from a range of people, especially politicians and scientists. Perry said:
“Modern doomsayers have been predicting climate and environmental disaster since the 1960s. They continue to do so today. In 2021, Kenneth Richard summed up the current situation, saying:
“A new peer-reviewed paper published in the International Journal of Global Warming identifies 79 “apocalyptic” predictions formulated since 1970 by “researchers and activists” who “predict cataclysmic events” resulting from “catastrophic climate change.” Already 48 of these “truly apocalyptic forecasts” have failed. Why politicians, the media and the public take any notice of the ridiculous predictions of doom that never happen is beyond the comprehension of the more rational members of the public, especially in light of so many failed ”End of the world” predictions made by other religious zealots:

We shouldn’t expect political cultists to acknowledge that their actions to control the Earth’s climate are pointless, expensive and useless.
As Winston Churchill famously explained, “Politics is the ability to foretell what is going to happen tomorrow, next week, next month and next year, and to have the ability afterwards to explain why it didn’t happen.”
