New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham issued a “temporary” gun ban that prevents gun owners from carrying their firearms in public in Albuquerque. She later adjusted the ban in order to limit it to parks and playgrounds.
Legal experts, including Jonathan Turley of George Washington University Law School, says Grisham’s ban is “flagrantly unconstitutional.”
Billionaire business mogul Elon Musk responded with 9 simple words: “How soon can this person be removed from office?”
The far-left Democrat says she believes the Second Amendment is not “absolute.”
“No constitutional right, in my view, including my oath, is intended to be absolute,” Grisham told residents of her state.
Musk also said, “At risk of stating what should be obvious, deliberately violating the Constitution is next-level illegal.”

The gun ban will last “at least 30 days” because three children were recently shot in the area.
Social media immediately erupted with negative backlash against Grisham.
Stripping law-abiding citizens of their gun rights undoubtedly makes Americans less safe. Criminals, by definition, will not follow the gun ban. Now they can be assured that their victims will be unarmed in public.
There are widespread calls for Grisham’s impeachment and removal from office over the ban.
Local law enforcement officials also expressed concerns that the governor’s order violated Second Amendment rights.
“The governor of New Mexico is using a public health order to suspend a right guaranteed by the US Constitution. Yes, a public health order,” Ron DeSantis Press Secretary Jeremy Redfern responded. “Did you think the left was going to stop at just forcing you to wear a mask?”
Bernalillo County Sheriff John Allen said, “While I understand and appreciate the urgency, the temporary ban challenges the foundation of our Constitution, which I swore an oath to uphold.”
“I am wary of placing my deputies in positions that could lead to civil liability conflicts, as well as the potential risks posed by prohibiting law-abiding citizens from their constitutional right to self-defense.”
