NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On Friday, September 15, Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other Democrats faced vocal heckling during a press conference held in New York City concerning the migrant crisis.

The press conference took place outside Manhattan’s Roosevelt Hotel, which has been serving as a relief center for asylum seekers. However, the Democrats’ remarks were repeatedly interrupted by protesters shouting slogans of “send them back” and “close the border.”

Following the event, Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a clip claiming that Ocasio-Cortez was “drowned out” by the protesters. 

The Internet soon started reacting to Hannity’s post, and several criticized the Democrats, saying, “It’s great when they face their own medicine.”

In the video, Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other democrats were making their statements after surveying the NYC migrant crisis outside of a hotel in Manhattan.

Ocasio-Cortez began by saying, “My name is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. I’m here alongside Representative Adriano Espaillat, and we’re incredibly thrilled and excited to be here…” 

However, she was interrupted by shouts of “send them back,” and “close the border.”

Despite that, she continued, “We have geographic diversity here, including representatives from California, Texas, Illinois, and New Jersey.”

Again, a man shouted into a megaphone, saying, “Close the border! Close the border! Respect the constitution AOC! I am your constituent!”
