KOMMONSENTSJANE – TIME TO CALL OUT RINO’S IN THE REPUBLICAN PARTY.

Senators Susan Collins and Mitt Romney are both suppose to be Republicans with Republican values; but, the way they vote doesn’t indicate that.  In this impeachment vote the ordinary layman would put the Constitution in play.  Did the articles of impeachment against President Trump meet the threshold of the Constitution – which they did not?  That was suppose to be the first consideration.  If that didn’t happen there wasn’t anything else to consider.

But Collins and Romney made a terrible mistake in their judgement.  When the two of them  voted for more witnesses they were telling us  the articles and the way the House handled the debacle was fine with them even though they were outside the bounds of the Constitution and without due process.

Collins and Romney have to understand the Constitution has to be protected first and foremost as a base to start the deliberation and they didn’t do that.  They both made it personal against the President and the country.  The Senate leaders need to have a conversation with Collins and Romney and see why they continue not being part of the team of Republicans.

Voters who vote for them as a Republican with Republican values and if they are not willing to do that – the voters in their state need to be alerted to consider someone else for the two jobs because they are only  “keeping seats warm and occupied” for the Democrats.  Two votes always make or break decisions.  They can’t be depended on at any time.

WASHINGTON – The Senate voted Friday to reject subpoenas for witnesses or documents in the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump, clearing the way for a vote on the verdict.

The largely party-line vote of 51-49 was expected. The 47 Democrats needed at least four Republicans to join them to call witnesses. Only two Republicans – Susan Collins of Maine and Mitt Romney of Utah – had announced they would support calling witnesses.

Sen. Mitt Romney will not be invited to this year’s CPAC, the conservative conference’s host chair announced Friday in the aftermath of senators voting not to hear additional witnesses in President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial.
