My condolences go out to the Kobe Bryant family for their loss of a father, husband, and a daughter.  Who gave them permission to make their flight since helicopters were sensibly not allowed to take off in the fog that morning?  Listening to the pilot is heart breaking.

Why do people need exceptions when other transportation is available?  It is time to rethink this “special exception” in time of fog.
