As the story goes – Schiff – one of the Democrats, was hungry and ate the banana. In the end, the Democrat Banana Republic retaped the peel with duck tape and therefore the real evidence was lost. The court ruled in favor of the GOP since the evidence had been tampered with by the Democrats.
