KOMMONSENTSJANE – TLAIB’S CAMPAIGN FINANCE VIOLATIONS.

It looks like they are spending above their means or don’t know how to count money?

Tlaib’s Campaign Finance Violations

The Squad—Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib (and maybe Ayanna Pressley, depending on who you ask)—are the darlings of the Left-wing media. They stand up for hardcore Leftist values and attack President Trump at every opportunity.

The media just eats it up.

The members of the Squad—with the exception of Pressley—have endorsed socialist Bernie Sanders for president and have hit the campaign trail on behalf of the Vermont senator.

However, each Squad member has their own issues with following campaign finance laws.

Bet you haven’t heard much about that in the media.

Yeah, me neither.

Thankfully, some people HAVE been paying attention, and the latest lawbreaker in the Squad is Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib.

The House Ethics Committee has been investigating ethics violations that Tlaib is said to have committed.

Fox News reported, “The House Ethics Committee on Thursday released a trove of striking internal campaign communications sent in 2018 by Michigan Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib, in which Tlaib urgently requested money from her congressional campaign to defray personal expenses and, a government watchdog said, possibly violated federal law in the process.”

Oops, that doesn’t look good for Rashida.

In an email, Tlaib revealed the desperate state of her personal finances and sought funds from her campaign for her personal use.

She wrote, “[I] am struggling financially right now and sinking. So I was thinking the campaign could loan me money…I was thinking a one-time payment of $5K.”

In another email she wrote, “With the loss of a second income to lean back on, I am requesting $2,000 per two weeks but not exceeding $12,000. The cost of living stipend is going towards much needed expenses due to campaigning that includes car maintenance, childcare, and other necessities. Please let me know if I can proceed.”

There are other emails and texts that the House Ethics are using to investigate Tlaib, however, this information alone is enough to land her in hot water.

Tlaib isn’t the only Squad member in trouble. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar have both had their fair share of troubles when it comes to following campaign finance laws as well.

Ocasio-Cortez and her chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti, are facing allegations that they committed a crime by failing to disclose their dual leadership in Justice Democrats, her campaign PAC, and her campaign.

It is a violation of campaign finance law for a candidate to control their campaign and a PAC (political action committee) at the same time.

The Daily Caller reported:

“Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her chief of staff Saikat Chakrabarti obtained majority control of Justice Democrats PAC in December 2017, according to archived copies of the group’s website, and the two appear to retain control of the group, according to corporate filings obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation. If the Federal Election Commission (FEC) finds that the New York Democrat’s campaign operated in affiliation with the PAC, which had raised more than $1.8 million before her June 2018 primary, it would open them up to ‘massive reporting violations, probably at least some illegal contribution violations exceeding the lawful limits,’ former FEC commissioner Brad Smith said.”

But wait, there’s more.

“Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign and Justice Democrats raised a combined $4.6 million during the 2018 midterm election cycle, FEC records show. There’s a maximum five-year prison sentence for anyone who knowingly and willfully receives a collective $25,000 or more in excessive campaign contributions in a single calendar year. Justice Democrats raked in far more than $25,000 from individual contributors of over $2,700 after Ocasio-Cortez and Chakrabarti took control, according to FEC records.”

Then there is Congresswoman Ilhan Omar.

Minnesota State Representative Steve Drazkowski referred Omar to the Campaign Finance Board, alleging she spent close to $6,000 in campaign funds for personal use.

Rep. Omar is being accused of spending the money to pay for a trip to Boston and Estonia.

I wasn’t aware that Estonia was in her district. Eastern Europe is a long way from Minnesota.

If that wasn’t bad enough, she has been accused of spending campaign funds to pay for her divorce.

It appears that the Squad members are fraudsters. However, they are women of color and so I will probably be called racist for saying that.

They hide behind the race and gender card anytime they are legitimately criticized; it is there only way to fight back.

Their defenders in the media will help portray them as victims, however, the facts are the facts. Maybe someday the media will report on their wrongdoings fairly.

I won’t hold my breath.
