If you owned a business like the government, what would you do if you loaned billions of dollars to a city after a riot/hurricane or any monthly income the city/state receives? How does the government follow up on money that is given to a state to make the improvements?
Take a look at Baltimore, MD – where did the billions of dollars go? Someone has to be held accountable. It is the people of the community who suffer.
Any person who did this would first set up an Oversight team to follow the money trail on every project and then assign a group of government employees in the accounting department to audit and follow the money trail of the city or state by insisting that the city send a copy of all bills with documented details and signatures with a photo of the responsible BONDED person for the project and its completion. And, every three months the auditors should visit the city’s accounting department, audit them, and visit the improvements.
As many employees as the government employs, this has to be done to keep people honest – which is not happening. We just give money willy-nilly – like in Puerto Rico. This is an ongoing problem and the government system has to be more diligent in keeping people more honest. You have to tighten the screws on this money.
