North Korea makes defiant statement against Trump with reckless launch.

The international community has long been attempting to rein in the rogue nation of North Korea.

The authoritarian communist regime, led for decades by the Kim dynasty, has routinely been involved in grotesque instances of human rights abuse, as well as reckless, aggressive military posturing – the latter of which if often for the sake of attention from the global community.

Over the course of the Trump presidency, however, things began to change. North Korea was suddenly willing to sit down with the US and discuss their nuclear ambitions. To his credit, President Trump has been stern but fair with Kim Jong Un and the DPRK.

That doesn’t mean that Kim is suddenly a reformed dictator, as evidenced by his latest attention-seeking stunt involving a couple of ballistic missiles.

Both projectiles traveled around 270 miles before falling into the Sea of Japan – also known as the East Sea – say reports from the troubled region.

It is the first missile test reported since President Trump and North Korean leader met at the demilitarized zone (DMZ) between the two Korea’s at the end of June.

The White House, Pentagon and US State Department did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

However, the joint chiefs said South Korean and US military were reportedly analyzing details of the launches.

It is precisely this sort of behavior that had landed Kim in the hot seat prior to Trump’s election, during six decades in which the United States refused to engage in any sort of diplomacy with North Korea.
