(R-Texas) is planning to fly to Dallas on Air Force One with President Obama on Tuesday (July 19) for a memorial service for the five police officers killed in a sniper attack last week.
Cruz was spotted by reporters in the parking lot outside the air terminal at Joint Base Andrews, where guests board the presidential aircraft.
The invitation to the Texas senator — a frequent Obama critic — is a show of unity in the wake of the attack, which dredged up divisive issues such as racism and anti-police sentiment.

Former President George W. Bush, who served as the governor of Texas from 1995 to 2000, is also expected to speak at the event.

The Dallas shooter killed five officers and wounded seven others at a protest march against police killings of black men in Louisiana and Minnesota.
