Senator Mike Lee of Utah, Delegate Kendall Unruh, and Ken Cuccinali just don’t get it – the people of the country voted for Donald Trump as the nominee of the party.  They think they can go to the convention like Senator Lee with his four delegates from Utah and Romney and undo the WILL OF THE PEOPLE.  Now I can see why the Senate is in such a mess with Lee and the others and why they can’t get anything accomplished.  I was certainly disappointed in Lee – I thought he was more disciplined than to let people talk him into making a fool out of himself.

Anti-Trump Colorado delegate Kendal Unruh spoke to MSNBC throughout the day Monday about what her colleagues plan to do to stop Trump or at the very least air their grievances on the convention floor before the Republican candidate for president is officially crowned as the party’s nominee.

Unruh argued Trump doesn’t represent the party and the grassroots, citing the Colorado and Wyoming delegation as well as some delegates from Washington, D.C. as proof.

Unruh said unbinding delegates to vote who they think would be best, or voting their ‘conscience,’ would be giving “power back to the people.” Unruh argued it is she that is fighting establishment “overreach” which she claims is “taking away the voice of the grassroots” by binding delegates who were selected to represent and vote for the candidate the primary electorate voted for. She described Trump as an “elitist, establishment, insider person.”

“Kendal, Donald Trump had said in tweets and Paul Manafort, his campaign manager, said in tweets that you were crushed. The movement was crushed. What does it feel like to hear, Kendal, from Donald Trump himself and from the campaign manager saying that he crushed your movement?” a compassionate Jacob Soboroff asked.

“Well, it’s still alive and well. But we need to figure out where those presentations are,” Kendal Unruh responded.

Unruh promised to fight the “strong-arm” tactics of the Trump campaign to the end.

According to The New York Times, the anti-Trump delegates plan was to embarrass Trump on the convention floor.

“Their hope was by starting a lengthy process at the end of the day they could embarrass Trump by delaying the convention’s scheduled speakers,” the Times reported.
