Lou Dobbs – Job Killing Stupidity, Anti-Americanism Of Clinton Globalist Trade Policies

Lou Dobbs delves into the surprising prominence that trade has taken on in this current political campaign, having been forced into that position by Donald Trump, making it “clear to all that forty years of trade deficits under the guise of so-called free trade are simply dumb.”

Dobbs continues, “And that a Trump presidency would stop the stupidity that has cut into our economic growth and devastated our working men and women and their families.” He reminds his audience, “It was only a year ago that Republicans in the House and Senate chose to give ‘president’ Obama everything he asked for. Trade promotion authority to fast-track trade deals no matter their cost, no matter the jobs that they cut into.”

He exposes the condition demanded by Pelosi and House Democrats of the passage of the Trade Adjustment Assistance Act, which gave temporary Band-Aid payments to those who were put out of work by “free trade.” Both sides know it’s bad for Americans and both sides needed cover for putting us out of work.

Dobbs says, “See what they did there? They passed a bill to give the ‘president’ the power to negotiate a ‘free trade’ agreement, then they passed a bill to help out in some minor ways Americans who lose their jobs because of the impact of the first bill. That’s beyond dumb but they keep getting away with it.”

“Perhaps even dumber,” says Dobbs, “Obama, the Chamber of Commerce and their capitol hill stooges all want to ratify the massive Trans Pacific Partnership trade deal. That’s the deal once touted by then Secretary of State Clinton back in 2012.”

Dobbs then plays a clip of Clinton describing TPP as setting the “gold standard” in trade agreements, using the same tired, meaningless, worn out words whose meaning has been completely eroded by this current criminal regime. She says it will bring “open, free, transparent, fair trade, the kind of environment that has the rule of law and a level playing field.” Of course anything that Obama and Clinton have their filthy, greedy paws into will be the opposite of any of those claims; we’ve learned that if nothing else over the past seven and a half years. It’s worth remembering TPP’s greatest champion in the House was Paul Ryan. Orrin Hatch, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and Mitch McConnell pushed the manure cart in the Senate.

Dobbs says, “Don’t you love those level playing fields where the only people who lose are middle class, working men and women and their families? Pretty level I think, wow. The standard, the gold standard of what? Of anti-American dumb? He notes her highly flexible stance on TPP and plays some comments from Trump making the same observations.

Dobbs recognizes that these bad deals have been job killers that have worked to destroy the middle class and the futures of those Americans who hoped to find their way into it. Just as Obama threatened to put the Brits at the back of the trade line, Dobbs notes that the American people have been occupying that position in the trade deals which put the elites first in everything.
