As the Daily Beast reports, Bernie Sanders campaign is being driven by those who are unemployed:
More than one-fourth of Democratic presidential nominee Bernie Sanders’ campaign contributions come from the jobless, a plurality, as the Los Angeles Times reports. Campaigns are not required to publicize the names of those who give $200 or less, so not much has been known about many of Sanders’ donors. But the newspaper now reports that of the $209 million given to the Vermont senator’s campaign, about one out of every four dollars—28.6 percent—came from those not in the workforce, including the unemployed or retired. And of all the states in the nation, Californians have contributed the most, donating more than $36 million to his campaign.
These unemployed people are presumably receiving unemployment, or some other form of welfare payment, which they’re then funneling to the candidate who’s promising an endless supply of free stuff supplied by wealthy innovators and the hardworking middle class. So in a way, your tax dollars are being used to finance the campaign of a man who, if elected, will demand far more tax dollars from you, so that these people can continue to do…whatever it is they do.
Which in California is this.
