KATIE COURIC UNDER FIRE FOR MISLEADING ANTI-GUN FILM

Katie Couric’s Apology For Misleading Gun Edit May Be Too Late.

That is right – Couric is a day late.  Remember how Couric undercut Sarah Palin and became famous by the liberals for her dirty interview.  Couric does not deserve anything but a butt kick out the front door.  If that is an example how a woman makes it to the top of the ladder then leave me out.  What goes up – comes down and some times fast.

“THIS MOVIE IS NOT…”

Film Director Stephanie Soechtig and journalist Katie Couric have been embroiled in controversy for the past week, ever since a deceptive edit was discovered in their documentary film “Under the Gun.”

The edit was made in a scene where members of the pro-gun group Virginia Citizen Defense League were questioned by Couric about background checks. In it, Couric asks, “If there are no background checks, how do you prevent — I know how you all are going to answer this, but I’m going to ask it anyway. If there are no background checks for gun purchasers, how do you prevent felons or terrorists from walking into, say, a licensed gun dealer and purchasing a gun?”

Audio of the conversation records members of the group responding with answers immediately, while the final film includes eight seconds of silence, so as to imply the group’s members were dumbfounded by the question.

In the days following this discovery, Couric stood by her film and Soechtig, her director, who has a history of making statements hostile to gun owners.

Monday, however, Couric finally relented, releasing a statement apologizing and taking responsibility for the misleading edit.

But it appears her gesture may be too little, too late.

According to a report by the pro-second amendment site Bearing Arms, the Viacom owned EPIX movie channel, which had begun airing the documentary last week, has now pulled the movie from its lineup.

Bearing Arms reports that a visit to Epix.com to watch the film now displays the message, “THIS MOVIE IS NOT CURRENTLY PLAYING ON EPIX.”

Soechtig, Couric, EPIX, and Yahoo, who employs Couric as an anchor for Yahoo! News, has faced a barrage of comments from those upset with the doctored footage.

Despite the film reportedly being pulled from EPIX and Couric openly admitting her mistake, there has yet to be any indication that the film will be adjusted to fix the misleading edit.

Time for Couric to ride off in the sunset – we don’t need her cheating and dishonesty in our midst.
